Position Summary
The Senior Mainframe Systems Programmer provides support for on-going projects that require the installation, testing, and implementation of new operating systems and other ‘system’ software.
Also, the Maintenance and debugging of systems software.

Functional knowledge, use of z/OS components and detailed knowledge of support products such as tape management, scheduling, security, monitoring systems, etc.
Key Areas of Focus for this Role
Backup and recovery processes and tools
Troubleshoot performance issues and query tuning concepts
Identify and troubleshoot databases issues with high priority.
Troubleshoot job failures and work with Operations as required.
Monitor the systems for any unusual activities and restrictive states and check the logs periodically for any issues.
Refresh Dev/Test systems with prod backup images as requested.
Off Hours Support as required.
Participate in Oncall Schedule.
Team lead for zOS – Assist/Lead the zOS system programming team.

Required Qualifications
Minimum of 10 years of related experience
Bachelor’s degree required and/or equivalent work experience
Knowledge of zOS DB2 platforms
Ability to perform and lead complex projects
Experience with report and output management software, specifically $AVRS.
Experience with ISIS/PPFA/OGL for AFP form definition creation.
Experience with installation and maintaining zOS
Experience with parallel sysplex
Other Qualifications
Ability to perform skill set of a Mainframe System Programmer
Working in a collaborative multi client Environment.
Ability to mentor and show leadership qualities
