PolyCon Solutions is seeking a *remote* Senior Computer Systems Analyst to support our Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) client with technical planning, system hardware-software-network design, development and integration, verification and validation, and fielding.
The candidate will provide expertise in software requirements analysis, design, design reviews, development, software testing, integration, installation, and maintenance of complex computer systems.
Responsibilities:
Provide 2nd level engineering support for the Federal NOTAM System (FNS) systems
Support system development/testing/integration/deployment activities for FNS systems
Provision, install, configure, monitor, and maintain Linux systems hardware and software infrastructure
Perform ongoing performance tuning, hardware and software upgrades, and resource optimization as required.
Develop and manage Linux shell scripts to support application software testing and administration
Able to debug software issues in Linux and Windows environments
Attend system design reviews, technical interchange meetings, and any other meetings as requested to support the program and team
Possess a technical understanding of Service Oriented Architecture (SOA); Java Message Service (JMS); Web Services (NOT Web Page Development); Simple Object Access Protocol (SOAP) Communication Protocol
Able to read/decipher/troubleshoot XML files and WSDLs
Operations and maintaining Websphere installations
Participate in system test and key site test activities as a tester
Education Requirements:
Bachelor of Science (B.
S) degree and 8 - 12 years of prior relevant experience or Master of Science (M.
S.
) degree with 6 - 10 years of prior relevant experience.
May possess a Doctorate in the technical domain.
Location:
Virtual; must be willing to travel.
On-call for site support.
Full-time position, standard work hours, no specified job duration.
Required Qualifications:
Strong knowledge and background of Unix/Linux Operating Systems
Solid understanding of IP network technologies and software tools for performance monitoring and troubleshooting
Technical understanding of systems, databases, networking, and computing environments
Experience with server operations, data communications, systems analysis, and networks.
Experience with networking, client-server architecture, and enterprise system architecture.
Experience acting as senior system administrator for Linux/UNIX-based systems.
Experience with troubleshooting network security issues and defining and implementing policies.
Experience with shell scripting and automation of tasks (ex.
Bash, Python)
Desired Qualifications:
Working knowledge of ANCIBLE playbooks
Working knowledge of Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) systems
Working knowledge of VMware virtual environment
Familiarity with FAA System Wide Information Management (SWIM)
Familiarity with NAS Technical Operations
Familiarity with WebSphere
Familiarity with Kubernetes
Familiarity with PostgreSQL
Familiarity with ELK Stack
Familiarity with the Implementation/verification of CIS Benchmarks
Familiarity with configuration management systems (Preferred Ansible)
