*Job Summary:* As a Permit Specialist, you will help lead the process of planning, coordination, and communication of local governments and jurisdictions, governing agencies, or any other relevant entities for permits, right of ways, easements, and land use compliance requirements for large and small-scale utility projects.
The Permitting Specialist role is responsible for performing a wide range of assignments and resolving challenges independently, sometimes without close supervision.
The ideal candidate should be well organized, have a strong analytical background and have the ability to anticipate upcoming project needs, and appropriately use initiative.
*What You Get to Do (Duties/Responsibilities):* * Work with permit agencies/joint pole/structure owner(s) and other 3rd parties * Maintain relationships with municipalities and manage all aspects of complying with conditions of approvals from municipalities for installation, operation and maintenance of facilities and networks * Serve as subject matter expert on matters related to local municipal codes and to effectively communicate status of sites.
* Coordinate with permit and project managers to ensure sites meet requirements.
* Prepare, submit & track permit application packages for easement or pole attachments, monitor and document the various stages of the permit approval process and provide updates to internal/external teams.
* Obtain all necessary permitting/zoning approval from national and local agencies * Inform other internal functional groups about requirements and regulations of government entities and municipalities to assist with compliance with general conditions of approvals at various stages of the project, and to meet project timelines *What We Are Searching For (Required Skills/Abilities):* * Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook required.
* Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
* Outstanding planner and organizer.
* Ability to work independently and collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams in a fast-paced and high-volume environment with emphasis on accuracy and timeliness * Knowledge of working with government agencies, jurisdictions, and Right of Way preferred.
* Willingness to learn new skills, software, and technologies.
* Available to travel to different project sites as needed.
*Education/Certifications/Experience:* * Associates degree preferred, or equivalent administrative experience * 2 years of experience in wireless, telecommunications, construction, and/ or public utility industry preferred but not required *What’s In It for You?* *Base Pay:* $60,000.
