Job Summary: The Sr.
Project Manager, Construction will work on the Real Estate and Construction Planning and Projects Team responsible for the leadership and oversight of strategic capital projects and investments across the enterprise and network of resorts.
This role will be instrumental in the overall success of the team and of assigned projects and is expected to lead internal and external stakeholders through all aspects of the project from concept/inception to completion.
The Sr.
Project Manger will also have ongoing and direct involvement/communication with our internal stakeholders (often times the Resort Operation Leaders)and is expected to understand project goals and expectations and set expectations to deliver while delivering projects on-budget and on-schedule.
The Senior Project Manager may be responsible for development and maintenance of the team’s project tracking tools and reporting as well as compiling and maintaining a library of documents for the team’s use.
Other duties include the development and maintenance of project budgets, including the ability to manage spend and commitments (cost accounting); ability to negotiate and enforce contracts with outside consultants/contractors/vendors; interact, communicate and obtain permits from governmental agencies; manage all aspects of project design; manage execution of construction through completion and turnover, including staffing and direction of daily activities and delivery on all project reporting expectations.
Job Specifications: Outlet: Remote Expected Pay Range: $89,100 - $121,305 + annual bonus Shift & Schedule Availability: Full Time, Year Round Job Responsibilities: The ideal candidate will be a high-potential leader eager to join a small team with significant oversight resonsibiliites of the company’s highest and most strategic projects Strong business acumen with desire and ability to quicly learn on-mountain construction Strong communicator with ability to manage through change and uncertantity while supporting the Director, Sr.
Director and Vice President leaders on the team Stong ability to read and understand construction documents and specifications Strong ability to create and manage Smartsheets, Excel and other tracking project management tools Responsible for understanding project stakeholder’s goals and expectations and is expected to lead frequent communications with all internal and external stakehodlers Responsible for leading and managing projects from inception to completion and turnover with the full understanding of all project aspects including design, approvals, construction, schedule and budget Have flexibility for weekday travel to various resorts owned by Vail Resorts to execute assigned projects, as necessary Ability to prepare project budgets based on stakeholder goals, expectations and approved funds.
Will lead stakeholders through value engineering and other cost savings exercises to ensure projects can be completed on-budget and/or develop justification for incremental funding Work closely with appropriate governmental agencies/officials to gain required project approvals.
Have ability to be a self-starter and work well in team environments Ability to oversee and/or assist in the oversight of the project team including all architects, designers, engineers, contractors, vendors and consultants.
Exhibit real time understanding of project status (all facets) and be able to develop, distribute and discuss projects updates as required Responsible for the vetting and hiring of project consultants and vendors to ensure value and achievement of customer goals Prepare, negotiate and enforce contractual agreements in coordination with the contracts and legal teams Work closely with the various team members through the completion of each project and all project related decisions as required or directed.
Work to innovate process and challenge the norm to drive labor efficiency and effectiveness Job Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Construction Management or Architecture Minimum of 5 years’ experience in construction management Supervisory Experience: 4 years Standard Microsoft Office applications.
Microsoft Project preferred.
Proficient with Smartsheets and Excel.
Proficient ability to read, write, and speak English; dual languages a plus Strong leadership and understanding of all phases of development and construction with focus on construction management, completion urgency and closeout.
Preferred Skills: Experience with resort development and mountain construction is preferred The expected Total Compensation for this role is $89,100 - $121,305 + annual bonus.
