Position Details
The Director, OSP Fiber Splicing leads, directs, and coaches our Tilson Fiber Splicing teams across the US.
Serves as national splicing SME and creates quality standards, processes, and KPIs.
They will be responsible for mentoring our fiber splicing teams, ensuring safe work practices, driving production, delivering quality in accordance with industry and customer standards, meeting project schedules, and driving successful close-out of service areas.
Responsibilities:
Serve as OSP Fiber Splicing Subject Matter Expert with a national focus and scope.
Provide recommendations for internal aerial construction self-perform teams to increase production and safety practices.
Maintain a safe environment and ensure all safety standards are met.
Lead training effort for workforce to bridge any skill and safety gaps.
Lead construction training initiatives for OSP Fiber Splicing division.
Establish and monitor Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s).
Drive continual KPI improvement through technology, innovation, efficiency, and training.
Host weekly calls with internal stakeholders to drive KPI improvement.
Serve as subject matter expert for new market technical startup facilitation.
Create roadmap and schedule for new market technical startup facilitation.
Develop, implement, and document construction best practices and standard operating procedures.
Evaluate market CAPEX requirements and equipment requirements.
Travel up to 50%
Position can be remote.
Qualifications:
Displays exceptional leadership and promotes Tilson culture, delivers on required objectives, and develops team leaders.
Minimum of 10 years’ experience leading OSP Fiber Splice and Test teams.
Comfort with electronic tolls and automation.
Tilson is largely a paperless environment that leverages technology.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Exceptional knowledge of industry technology standards.
Deep knowledge of required splice and test tools, power meters, Sumitomo fusion splicers, and EXFO OTDR’s
Exceptional knowledge of safety practices in accordance with OSHA and industry standards.
Bachelor’s degree preferred.
Will consider relevant combination of industry certifications and relevant experience.
Must be at least 21 years of age to meet Tilson’s driving eligibility requirements.

Tilson leads with integrity around pay transparency; as part of the compensation plan for this position you can expect a pay range of:
$150,000.
