Description:
Our client is hiring for their Systems Engineering team, currently bringing new products to market that help people living with diabetes more easily and successfully manage their diabetes.
Patients, their loved ones, and their healthcare providers all take an active role in helping the patient managing their diabetes.
New technologies and access to information are making things possible that open innovative and game changing systems possible.
As a Principal Systems Engineer, you will architect our next gen systems and products for diabetes therapy using a combination of Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE), Digital Engineering, Simulation, and System Analysis and Empirical Modeling.
Day in the Life:
* Work with project core teams to develop system architecture models of our next gen systems and products for diabetes therapy using MBSE
* Develop empirical models and perform systems analysis to drive design decisions
* Integrate MBSE tools with other tools in our engineering ecosystem
* Develop and execute simulation models using Simulink, Stateflow, or other simulation tools
* Collaborate with IT to build out our Digital Engineering infrastructure
* Develop custom architecture report generation templates
* Develop custom model validation tools
Duties:
* Performs technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, evaluates alternatives including cost and risk, supportability and analyses for total systems.
* Analyses are performed at all levels of total system product to include: concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal.
* Ensures the logical and systematic conversion of product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints.
* Performs functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications.
Must Have:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Scientific discipline and 7+ years of technical engineering professional experience, OR advanced degree in Engineering or Scientific discipline and 5+ years of technical engineering professional experience
Nice to Have:
* Knowledge of system and software engineering architecture principles, concepts, and best practices
* Experience in coordinating technology designs with architectural requirements and constraints
* Demonstrated experience generating technical documentation such as requirements, specifications, engineering reports, plans & procedures
* Excellent written and communication skills
* Demonstrated experience in product development
* Experience in embedded devices design, development, verification, and documentation
* Experience with development in a regulated industry such as medical device, defense, or automotive
* Experience with MBSE tools such as Enterprise Architect or MagicDraw
* Experience with simulation tools such as Simulink and Stateflow
* Experience with empirical modeling and systems analysis
