*Purpose:*
This position is accountable for the estimating of nationwide projects within the National Construction business unit.
Markets include retail and commercial remodel, hospitality interior and exterior renovation, façade/building envelope, senior living renovation, tenant improvement & others.
*Major Opportunities & Key Accountabilities:*
· Intake of bid opportunities, analysis of project documents, schedule, takeoff, cost estimation, RFI, proposal writing, pre-bid site/scope walks.
· Work with project stakeholders to develop conceptual budgeting and constructability analysis.
· Source and vet subcontractors, grow subcontractor & vendor relationships, perform bid leveling across multiple trade partners.
· Negotiate and award subcontracts / purchase orders to trade partners & vendors for awarded projects.
· Negotiate project pricing, schedule, and project awards with clients.
· Procure/manage architects for design build projects.
· Procure permitting for awarded projects.
· Create project schedules and budgets for hand off to project management.
· Support of Project Managers & Superintendents on in-progress projects.
· Develop processes and historical cost/scope tracking to build data base for future projects.
· Assist in strategic planning for continuous improvement & company growth.
· Leadership, Management, Training and Development of future incoming or cross team estimating personnel.
*Nature & Scope:*
* No direct responsibility for supervising other FCP employees at this time.
* May travel up to 30% domestically.
*Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:*
· Expert analytical skills; experience in producing estimating in complex, multi-trade, renovation and remodel projects.
· Extensive knowledge of construction industry means, methods, costs, process & generally accepted business practices.
· Concise and seamless communicator (verbal and written).
· Outstanding proposal writing skills.
· Proven positive attitude and professional.
Excellent customer-oriented focus with ability to build and maintain business relationships.
· Excellent organizational & time management skills – Ability to plan, prioritize, organize and monitor projects/tasks.
· Solutions oriented mindset with the ability to guide stakeholders through complex problems.
· Strong teamwork skills.
· Experience with different process improvement methodologies.
