Job Description We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Subject Matter Expert (SME) to join our team.
The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of a variety of technology areas, including but not limited to Unified Capabilities, Virtual and Augmented Reality, Artificial Intelligence, Biometrics, Command and Control, Networking and Communications, Data and Data Management, Identity Management and Single Security Architecture, Trust Management, Computing and/or Cloud Computing, Mobility, cross-domain/community of interest, and security process engineering.
The candidate will be responsible for providing technical support and skills for targeted and focused technical studies and analyses that support the Agency’s technology strategies and implementations and the development of the DISA strategic objectives related to technology planning and management, technology, and research coordination with DoD & industry research organizations.
They will also be responsible for conducting hardware/software proofs-of-concept & pilots in a variety of technology areas, supporting the development of technology evaluation plans and procedures, metrics and use cases, as well as the development of business case analyses and recommended requirements for future acquisition activities.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities Provide technical support and skills for targeted and focused technical studies and analyses that support the Agency’s technology strategies and implementations and the development of the DISA strategic objectives related to technology planning and management, technology, and research coordination with DoD & industry research organizations.
Conduct hardware/software proofs-of-concept & pilots in a variety of technology areas.
Support the development of technology evaluation plans and procedures, metrics and use cases, as well as the development of business case analyses and recommended requirements for future acquisition activities.
Acts as Enterprise Architect to develop IS security strategies with technology installation, configuration, maintenance, and operations.
Develop, maintain, and update security configuration guidance for all DoD.
Provide technical support for the technology areas, SRGs, and STIGs.
Develop DoD configurations based on applicable DoD policies.
Ensure the guidance is prepared using proper grammar, spelling, punctuation, formatting, and is in accordance with the approved style guide.
Release new and updated guidance as soon as it completes the review process.
Job Requirements: Education & Experience Requires the ability to build out test and research environments, evaluate products, technology and technology platforms and work with vendors and other organizations in the evaluation of products, technologies and services.
Ability to develop and create research outlines and test plans, write white papers, create briefings, and present findings and recommendations to senior leadership.
Findings will address the defined scope of research effort and areas of concern such as feasibility of technology adoption, security risk analysis, and strategic recommendations for addressing identified risks that might be encountered during installation, configuration, maintenance, and operations of any given technology or product.
Requires good presentation skills and the ability to convey technical information in a way that can be used to make management decisions.
Ability to work in a team environment.
Certifications DoD 8570 IAT Level III Security Clearance DoD Interim Secret / Final Secret clearance is required Other (Travel, Work Environment, DoD 8570 Requirements, Administrative Notes, etc.
