Overview: The role of the Category Manager is to establish a process-driven approach to procurement, bringing together sourcing strategies across multiple business units and driving greater compliance to a central procurement method.
The ideal candidate is a skilled negotiator with a strong strategic supplier vision, and experience setting supplier strategies for long-term success.
Negotiating strong positions and building and mainaining strong supplier relationships is a must.
This individual should have exceptional stakeholder management and project management experience to pull together multiple, fragmented, business units and drive coordination to leverage better purchasing positions in the market.
The Category Manager will be expected to deliver significant improvements to the supplier portfolio regarding cost, quality and performance that will directly impact the company's bottom line.
Responsibilities: Managing complex subcontracts, including those with Spec/SOW- driven requirements and other specific procurements, as required Preparing and releasing Requests for Proposals (RFPs), receiving, analyzing and evaluating proposals, negotiating subcontract prices, terms and conditions, selecting or recommending subcontractors, documenting agreements, administering resulting subcontracts/POs, including subcontract/PO closeout Negotiating modifications to subcontracts, developing positive working relationships, and interfacing with suppliers via phone, email, Skype or personal visits, as required.
Confirming and/or expediting material deliveries to support program production dates Managing supplier relationships and supplier performance to achieve program and customer requirements and goals for Sales, Orders, and Profit.
Qualifications: Minimum: 5+ years of relevant experience, including sourcing, category and vendor management, purchasing, and/or material management.
Technical/manufacturing experience and/or equivalent experience is considered an asset.
Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management, Management, Engineering, Operations, or other applicable discipline required.
Experience managing supplier relationships and cross- functional teams.
Able to lead groups in problem solving.
Excellent communications, negotiations, presentation and documentation skills.
Ability to interact with senior management, suppliers and other external personnel on significant matters often requiring coordination between functional organizations.
Ability and willingness to travel to supplier facilities to participate in meetings and to resolve subcontract/program issues on-site, as needed.
Self-directed, able to work independently, as well as work in a team-orientated and fast-paced environment.
Capable of navigating through ambiguous situations.
Ability to work collaboratively and support multiple initiatives.
Must have strong problem-solving, strategic, and analytical capabilities.
This position requires access to technology, materials, software or hardware that is controlled by either ITAR or EAR U.

export laws.
As a condition to this job offer, in order to be employed in this position, you must be able to obtain an U.

Government export license(s), as required by law.
Preferred: TINA Negotiation Experience.
