Position Summary:
The LIS Technical Specialist participates in the evaluation, design, implementation, QA, documentation, maintenance, and support of the Laboratory department's web/client server software applications and various Carle enterprise-wide systems.
Serves as a liaison between vendors, IT personnel, and other application analysts, management and end users to resolve questions related to system functionality and design.
Develops standard and customized application reports.
Performs team and integrated testing for all functionality of applications and their interfaces.
Functions as a resource for users in the development of time saving processes or new features.
Qualifications:
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Associate's in Clinical Lab Science or related field and ASCP certification as MLS/MT, MLT, CT, HT or HTL or Associate's in Computer Science and two years lab experience.
CERTIFICATION & LICENSURE REQUIREMENTS

Essential Functions:

Participates in the build, installation, implementation, testing, validation, monitoring and maintenance of application software/interfaces.
Applies and maintains standards/regulatory requirements (including but not limited to CLIA, CAP, DNV, CMS) to system design.
Makes recommendations that are in line with and support best practices.
Acts as a resource and mentor to others.
Troubleshoots, diagnoses and remedies system software/hardware problems.
Coordinates problem resolution with internal and external technical support personnel.
Assists both internal and external customers in finding solutions to their needs related to the LIS, instrumentation and interfacing with enterprise wide applications.
Recommends process/procedural changes based on application functionality.
Coordinates with key user representatives to develop project task plans, timelines and schedules.
