JOB SUMMARY: The Sr.
Clinical Informaticist is a critical link between the Clinical Information Systems department and medical and revenue cycle professionals.
They are an advocate for the clinician and business leaders, translating clinical and business standards and requirements into technical specifications for the EHR.
The Sr.
Clinical Informaticist provides expertise and support to highly visible, sensitive, and multi-faceted initiatives.
They are responsible for the successful turnover of projects and requests to production.
The Sr.
Clinical Informaticist works alongside the Clinical Informaticist providing technical oversight and experience on software design and analysis, application and system installation and implementation, and system scope and design objectives.
The Sr.
Clinical Informaticist supports the overall business by directing, managing, contributing and providing technical mentorship to the Clinical Informaticist, and assists in areas of research and analysis, monitoring and compilation of assigned deliverables, workflow analysis and documentation, and detailed specifications from which vendor systems will be programmed/configured.
The Sr.
Clinical Informaticist responsibilities include duties related to high level project analysis and planning, medium to large project management (which may include design, analysis and implementation), along with supporting the overall business / project plan by identifying and providing deliverables as a senior team member to meet project / team performance and outcomes relative to established goals / measurements.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's degree (Note: 7 years of Clinical System Development, Support and Maintenance Experience is required in lieu of no Bachelor's Degree) 5 years of experience Demonstrated facilitation skills to lead meetings, teams and projects crossing multiple departments and/or divisions Demonstrated customer service focus, ability to self-motivate, self-direct and balance competing priorities Demonstrated competency in critical thinking, analysis and problem solving skills Understand fundamentals of project management, SDLC, ITSM, and ITIL process methodologies with demonstrated ability to act as a lead for an implementation team or project Understanding of health care patient administration, clinical and business systems and must have installed a minimum of two computer-based hospital systems and actively performed the following: process and workflow analysis, systems/applications analysis, project lifecycle implementation with in-depth experience and training in a minimum of four discreet major projects Implementation and upgrade experience with previous integrated Healthcare Information Systems with emphasis on EMR applications/systems (Epic, Meditech, Cerner, etc) Must possess skills and experience in oral and written communications.
This is applicable to analysis, documentation, project management/request deliverables and documentation, application/systems specifications, project preparation, risk identification and escalation.
Ability to present to a broad spectrum of individuals and groups including senior management, physicians and health care professionals Demonstrated ability to write test scripts, document expected outcomes, and execute scripts to validate build Demonstrated ability to perform in a matrixed team environment, utilize effective team relationship skills, and interact at all levels of the organization Demonstrated level of integrity and trust, capable of maintaining confidential information Knowledge in fundamentals of hospital organization, management techniques, Joint Commission, HIPAA, and Title 22 requirements Demonstrated ability to interpret complex regulatory requirements PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Master’s Degree 10+ years of experience California RN License Respiratory Therapist Experience of 5 years as a clinician or practicing clinician in a patient care setting (preferably acute) within the past 10 years Previous experience in a senior or leadership role in an enterprise-wide system implementation Healthcare Experience Prior Personnel or Project Leadership/Management experience Demonstrated experience as major participant in a clinical system implementation Preferred Epic Certifications in Healthy Planet and Ambulatory The expected hiring range for this position is $48.
