What’s unique about this role? The Senior Network Engineer is responsible for planning, designing, implementing, operating, documenting, maintaining and optimizing the Lighthouse global network infrastructure.
In addition, the Senior Network Engineer is responsible for all aspects of managing our network infrastructure and collaborating with other engineers to best meet the needs of our internal and external user base.
What will this person do? Design, implement, operate and maintain all network equipment and software related to the Lighthouse environment.
This includes routers, switches, wireless access points, LAN/WAN, Firewalls, Application Load Balancers, Security Appliances, routing policies and other related network services.
Monitor, maintain and document trends related to the global network for faults, performance and capacity.
Troubleshoot network/incidents problems.
This includes on-call responsibilities.
Participate in a formal incident rapid response process for priority incidents.
Work outside normal business hours when required - scheduled maintenance, outage response, last minute urgent requests.
Make proactive recommendations for changes to the global network environment.
Assist Application and System owners in troubleshooting networking related issues.
Create and maintain detailed documentation of the physical and logical network topology.
Standardize and maintain network configuration data and inventory.
Document structured network, device configurations, circuit information and other network components.
Work with vendors on new equipment and software integration.
Design and maintain secure configurations in accordance with security and regulatory compliance (ISO/IEC 27001, PCI DSS, etc.
) in a Hybrid Infrastructure Environment (Cloud and On-Premises).
Follow and enforce Change Management guidelines and processes.
Participate in IT process improvement projects.
Communicate with colleagues, management, customers, vendors and others in a courteous, professional manner.
Perform other related duties as assigned.

It would also be great if you have the following: BA in Computer Science or equivalent experience, with a focus on networking.
8+ years of experience in supporting network environments at an enterprise scale.
Minimum five (5) years of data networking design, installation operation and support in a distributed environment Extensive experience in networking and network security with Cisco platforms Professional certification such as the CCDP, CCNP, CCNA, CCDE or CCIE with an emphasis on switching, datacenters and/or security ITIL certification a plus Professional expertise in TCP and UDP mechanics including ability to interpret packet captures Professional expertise in network protocols and services such as DNS, HTTP(S), IPSEC, QoS Experience with Cisco switching/routing and advance LAN / WAN configurations for highly available systemsAbility to take initiative, and exercise professional, independent judgment to plan work, formulate recommendations, and make sound decisions.
Exceptional oral and written communication skills.
Exceptional communication skills with internal and external clients prior and during maintenance activities.
Excellent services-oriented mindset.
Cisco IOS, NX-OS, VXLAN and NDFC expertise is required.
Extensive experience with both Cisco and HP networking gear.
Network Cloud (Azure, AWS), Firewalls (Palo Alto) and Application Load Balancing(F5) experience is required.
Network monitoring, maintenance and optimization.
Dynamic routing protocols BGP, EIGRP, OSPF Extensive experience with Monitoring Tools (Site24x7, OpsManager, Solarwinds, Zenoss).
Knowledge of virtualization platforms (VMWare, Hyper-V, Horizon View) and server hardware (UCS/FI).
Knowledge of IPAM, DHCP, DNS (InfoBlox).
Experience with SAN & NAS in an iSCSI environment.
Knowledge of SSL Certificate generation and deployment is a plus.
Knowledge of SD-WAN is a plus.
Scripting skills is a plus.
Work Environment and Physical Demands Duties are performed in a typical office environment while at a desk or computer table.
Duties require the ability to use a computer, communicate over the telephone, and read printed material, in a quiet and professional setting.
Duties may require being on call periodically and working outside normal working hours (evenings and weekends).

The expected pay for this role will range from $95,500 to $128,500 per year.
This role will be eligible to participate in an annual bonus or incentive program.
