*Job Title: *System Engineer (Linux+VMWare+Dockers)

*Responsibilities:*
* Accounts management, server management, file backup and restoration coordination, and system monitoring and diagnostics.
* Remediate incident tickets and fulfill requests for internal customers.
* Ensure the enterprise servers are fully functional 24/7.
* Implement and monitor the enterprise disaster recovery and continuity of operations plans.
* Build and deploy server images as required from standard templates.
* Implement and monitor the enterprise Linux servers testing and installation of patches, updates, additional tools and future versions of all software daily.
* Open communication with all IT teams within to communicate and troubleshoot all IT issues for the assurance of server reliability.
* Perform full testing to ensure full functionality and integration with all enterprise servers prior to applying changes to production systems.
* Provide written test plans and results for approval prior to implementation.
* Perform preventative maintenance and server patching as appropriate.
* Perform expansion or consolidation of the servers.
* Configure and deploy new servers using VMWare.
* Completes user changes, adds, deletes as required in accordance with established guidelines
* Performs computer hardware adds / moves / changes as required in accordance with established guidelines
* Meets deadlines as both described in project description documents and agreed upon by the internal or external client
* Provides status updates of work items
* Contributes ideas for efforts to improve morale, communications, processes, performance in the office
* Reads, understands, applies, and supports departmental policies and procedures
* Exercises self-initiative to recognize and act upon departmental needs
* Assumes and performs other duties and responsibilities not specifically outlined herein, but which are logically and properly inherent to this position
* Adherence to established disaster recovery policies and procedures - including, but not limited to backups, configuration / change management, and system documentation.
*Qualification, Experience and Skills:*
* Bachelor’s degree with 10+ years as a Systems Engineer in an enterprise environment.
* 5+ years in supporting and maintaining production environments.
* Solid grasp of Linux-based systems such as RHEL.
* Good knowledge of machine virtualization using VMware.
* Experience with configuration management tools such as Ansible, Terraform, and Puppet.
* Proficient shell scripting and/or programming skills.
* Excellent knowledge of TCP/IP protocols network diagnostics.
* Knowledge of infrastructure and application monitoring.
* Team player with ability to provide technical guidance to IT teams.
* Proactive in nature and ability to lead projects from start to finish.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong attention to detail.
* Experience with supporting Linux VMS running in a VMWare environment.
* Practical experience with OS operation, upgrades and security patching
* Experience with network services like DNS and LDAP and HTTP proxies
*Desirable experience:*
* Familiar with Cisco networking hardware.
* Basic PostgreSQL and SQL administration.
* Experience in fundamental Windows services such as AD and DNS.
* Working experience in containerization platforms (Docker and Kubernetes).
* Basic understanding of software deployment pipelines.
Job Type: Contract
Salary: Up to $58.
00 per hour
