Legrand has an exciting opportunity for a Product Manager to join the P&S Syracuse Team in Syracuse, NY or Remotely.
What Will You Do? This role will be responsible for complete management of a designated product line including new product development, quality, cost, SKU rationalization, sales support & training, marketing, promotional activities, forecast, inventory management, operations performance, long-term planning/road map, budget planning, market & competitive research, Voice of the Customer, and strategic planning.
Remote candidates will be considered for this role.
Main Job Duties: Subject Matter Expert for product line Optimizes revenue and profit of existing product lines.
Monitor & review product line performance & trends to evaluate budget throughout fiscal year.
Drives new product development through field visits, meetings with customers (ED, specifiers, end-users), initiate research with engineering & operations to maintain a constant flow of innovative, cost reduced and high-quality products.
Provides sales support & training for EWS Field Sales and Customer Support.
Respond to sales questions, prepare sales events (National Sales Conference), support pricing strategy, travel with sales team, initiate & respond to training requests Participates in sales and marketing collateral development including catalogs, sell sheets, product bulletins & promotional campaigns with sales & marcom team, manage product launches Prepares and leads monthly S&OP meetings for designated product line, monitor & act on inventory levels, production capacity, service rates, production costs to meet or beat corporate targets.
Leads the long-term vision and strategic plan for designated product line(s), ensuring sustainable growth, market share and profitability, keep an eye on the market: attend trade events, competitive benchmarking, initiate & conduct research into long-term trends & customer needs.
Performs other similar and related duties as required.
Qualifications: Education: BS in Marketing, Business, Engineering, or related degree Experience: Minimum of 5 years’ experience in product management, marketing, sales, engineering, or related field or master’s degree and applicable internship experience.
Specific electrical or electrical industry knowledge a plus.
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities: Requires strong organizational and time management skills, close attention to detail and be able to effectively handle multiple priorities.
Must possess excellent project management skills, including demonstrated ability to develop and manage to a project plan, establish priorities, work to deadlines, and control a number of projects at various stages of work.
Strong computer skills, proficient with word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation software, e-mail, and meeting management software.
Ability to use internet and web-based resources efficiently and effectively.
Must have excellent verbal and written communications skills and be able to communicate effectively across all levels of the organization.
Must be an effective listener, able to maintain focus extract necessary information and validate understanding of the information.
Demonstrated ability to understand customer’s needs and identify new ways to serve/satisfy customer.
Must be highly collaborative and able to work in a team-based environment.
Ability to lead cross-functional teams.
Promotes an environment that is encourages cohesiveness and fosters trust and open communication with team, peers, and all business partners.
Must have solid business acumen and understanding of a variety of functional areas within the business.
Must be proficient in negotiation and influencing skills.
