About the role:
In the Associate Project Manager (APM) position, you will report to the Global Supply Chain Manager over Supplier Transitions and Development.
The ASPM will have the primary responsibility to manage and track several transition projects, develop timelines, and have effective communication with vendors and stakeholders.
The APM will work closely with project teams as well as various functions within Watlow, including leadership, operations, engineering (development and manufacturing), supply chain, product/account management and quality.
The APM will lead the project teams to ensure components are released to production on schedule.
This role will also require a good understanding of Project Management, Planning/Purchasing basis and supplier quality and development techniques.
Key responsibilities:
• Lead strategic transitions from supplier to supplier (buy vs buy) or plant to supplier (make vs buy) utilizing standard work process and ensuring the financial and key metrics are successfully achieved.
• Manage project teams, coordinate actions of the teams, assign individual responsibilities, develop project schedules, and determine resource requirements to successfully approve components of categories such as Machining, Stamping, Plastic Injection, PCBA, etc through FAI/PPAP deliveries.
• Lead cost reduction initiatives and supplier development requirements.
• Interact effectively with vendors and internal customers (BUs) and participate in the development and definition of different sourcing commodity strategy.
• Use Project Management tools to manage and track/report progress of several projects.
Communicate with internal customers, management and stakeholders about progress and deliveries.
Required qualifications:
• Bachelors Degree or Enrollment in a Continuous Education Program preferred.
• +3 years of experience in supply chain departments such as supplier development, supplier quality, sourcing, procurement, and project management experience in manufacturing environments.
• Use of ERP/MRP systems
• Demonstrate strong business judgment, integrity, financial acumen.
• Well organized and maintains a detail-oriented mindset.
• Lead through influence, work well within team environment to coach and direct to goals achievements.
• Intermediate-advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Power BI is a plus.
