PURPOSE:
The Sr.
Director of Operations will oversee the general operations of the Performance Brands facilities in the Houston, TX and Shreveport, LA, areas.
Ensures that the organization is managed and performing efficiently and effectively.
Reports to the SVP, Operations.
KEY OBJECTIVES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Ensures that Calumet’s Safety-First program is embedded in every part of the operation all the time
• Responsible for the efficient order fulfillment process including coordination between Customer Service, Purchasing, Production Planning and Operations.
• Lead the development and implementation of quality systems that will reinforce Calumet’s quality commitment.
• Establishes quantitative and qualitative metrics, guidelines, and standards by which the company’s efficiency and effectiveness can be evaluated; identifies opportunities for improvement.
• Drive the continuous improvement of all aspect of Operations.
• Reviews, analyzes, and evaluates business procedures.
• Ensures team is properly staffed, directed and performance managed.
• Implements policies and procedures that will improve day-to-day operations.
• Ensures work environments are adequate and safe.
• Oversees 2 manufacturing facilities and 2 distribution centers, ensuring each is reaching goals set by company leadership.
• Plans, directs, controls, implements, evaluates, monitors, and forecasts budgets and cost of production to achieve financial objectives.
• Communicates and explains new directives, policies, or procedures to managers; for major changes, meets with entire operations staff to explain changes, answer questions, and maintain morale.
• Leads coordination and integration of efforts to produce smoother workflow and more cost-effective business processes.
• Projects a positive image of the organization to employees, customers, industry, and community.
• Drive clear and consistent communication between production, planning, customer service, quality and sales that will facilitate the development of a strong team
• Strong influencer to the organization outside of this position span of control (Performance Brands Leadership Team)
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
REQUIRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCES:
• Thorough understanding of practices, theories, and policies involved in business and finance.
• Superior verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficient computer skills; Microsoft Office Suite (SAP beneficial).
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
• Bachelor’s degree required
• Master’s degree in Business Administration preferred.
• Extensive and diversified manufacturing background with at least 10 years of related experience working with highly flexible production capabilities.
• Knowledge of lubricants and/or petroleum products would be advantageous.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
• Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
• Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
