The role… The Junior Buyer will assist in the oversight of Weidmann’s global supply base by facilitating the purchasing and negotiations for raw materials, indirect materials, capital equipment, and services from suppliers and contractors.
How you’ll make an impact… • Negotiate with vendors for goods and services, negotiating the best possible price and service.
• Develop new supply sources for secondary supply or where current vendors are not meeting expectations.
• Compare and evaluate supplier quotations and services to determine the most competitive solutions based on a total cost of ownership approach.
• Examine bids and awards contracts.
• Negotiate discounts, improved payment terms, etc.
for favorable short and long term outcomes.
• Maintain compliance of federal, state and local regulations.
Ensure vendors are in accordance to internal corporate sustainability requirements.
What do you bring… • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Materials Management, Production and Operations Management, Purchasing, Business Administration, Finance, Engineering, or other related field.
• 1-2 years’ experience.
Manufacturing setting is preferred.
• Ability to identify problems, work with large data sets, recommend solutions, negotiate and execute contingency plans.
• Purchasing experience in an ERP environment and SAP is a plus.
