Come Join HII! Where Hard Stuff is Done Right! HII Unmanned Systems is seeking an experienced technician to come join our electrical engineering group! We are looking for an individual to contribute to the integration and test of advanced capabilities for integration into our autonomous systems, with the end goal of a highl technology and manufacturing readiness level.
System and subsystem design space includes common platform engineering areas, including energy subsystems, navigation subsystems, propulsion subsystems, sensor subsystems, and control subsystems, as well as launch and recovery systems.
As an electrical technician you will be part of a cross functional team of one of our autonomous vehicle programs, providing input on design, configuration, and performance, and responsible for prototyping and executing low-rate production systems.
Responsibilities may include the following: • Leading assembly and design verification of new assemblies • Support both new development, production, and sustaining efforts in the electronic technician aspects of system design and implementations (workmanship, standards, etc).
• Validate procedures for assembling or troubleshooting marine products • Communicate designs and issues to each corresponding department.
• Provide documentation for manufacturing support and design.
• Estimate labor and cost of materials for designs and applications.
• Build prototypes and tests fixtures for new design or to update existing designs and products.
• Travel to offsite locations as assigned.
• Dispositioning material as conforming or non-conforming, and assisting in the root-cause investigation for non-conforming material • Other duties as assigned.
What you will be doing.

Provides technical support to engineers on a variety of technical tasks.
Gathers, maintains, formats, compiles, and manipulates technical data, such as laboratory or material test results and engineering design changes.
Produces engineering documentation, reports, drawings (flow charts, block diagrams, and schematics).
Performs detailed mathematical calculations using established formulas; preliminary analyses of data where guidelines are provided in such areas as trajectory adequacy, model dimensional consistency; and quantitative judgments concerning technical data.
Uses personal computer in performance of analyses and development of documentation/reports.
May conduct tests and record data to assist with engineering evaluation or analysis.
What we are looking for.

AA or other 2 year technical degree in related discipline and 3 years of related experience, or HS + 5 years related (DoD/USN) experience.

Must be able to obtain and maintain a government clearance.

• Experience participating in design reviews of electronic assemblies • Experience in manufacturing as a product integrator or assembler • Experience in reading circuit card schematics as to understand performance, test requirements, and troubleshooting efforts • Experience with electrical measurement and analysis, including multimeters and oscilloscopes.
• Experience with Bills of Material and Manufacturing/Work Orders • Familiar with marine systems that include hardware and software components developed and produced for DoD use • Demonstrates attention to detail and develops and maintains accurate documentation.
Physical Requirements Job performance requires adequate visual acuity and manual dexterity for meeting the requirements of the job.
A waterfront office work environment is normally encountered.
