Product Launch Engineer

Position Overview: The Product Launch Engineer is responsible for the development and launch of all new products from the sales phase into active manufacturing.
This position acts as the liaison between internal sales and manufacturing personnel and the external customer.
Position Responsibilities: Oversees the proper development of all phases related to the new product, including detailed product descriptions and schematics, needed tooling, the specification of procurement of necessary capital equipment, and all components of the product being launched.
Works with accounting personnel to properly ensure that costing and pricing models are complete and accurate.
Responsible for overseeing prototype development and shipping samples to the customer.
Meets with the customer frequently to ensure related design is complete, and signs off on all quality documentation.
Works with manufacturing teams to ensure production personnel understand product requirements, and takes necessary steps to ensure cost management.
Attends all customer line trials for the launch of the new product.
Ensures a proper product hand-off between launch activities and continued manufacturing.
Minimum Requirements/Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, or equivalent.
Knowledge of plastics manufacturing processes, specifically PET single stage injection blow molding.
Strong understanding of the company’s Materials Planning, Purchasing and Supply Chain Management processes.
Experience in a Lean Manufacturing environment is preferred.
Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a fast-paced and high-pressure environment.
Exceptional customer service orientation.
Ability to develop and maintain strong positive collaborative working relationships with interdepartmental team members and gain the trust and ability to influence the other team members in working together toward a common goal.
Detailed-oriented and organized, with the ability to multitask and display consistent follow-through on tasks, assignments, projects, etc.
