Application Administrator

, is looking for two Application Administrators to fill two full-time exempt positions to join one of its offices in Chicago, Dallas, New York, St.
Louis, or Washington, D.
C.

Under supervision of the Legal Applications and Learning Manager, the Application Administrator will be responsible for the installation, configuration, maintenance, and support of software applications within the Firm and will manage and optimize the performance, availability, and security of applications to ensure they meet the needs and security requirements of the Firm.
To succeed in this position, you will need to be proactive, highly organized and have excellent communication skills as you will be working across all levels of the organization.
Qualified candidates will have a Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field, a minimum of four (4) years’ experience in business or systems analysis role, and prior experience with Microsoft Azure Active Directory.
Two (2) or more years of experience leading or managing projects and ITIL Foundation certification preferred.
The person selected for this position must be accustomed to working in a fast-paced environment.
This exempt position is eligible for a flexible hybrid-remote work schedule.
Job Responsibilities * Collaborates with application developers and infrastructure team to ensure application compatibility with existing environments and understands product road map with future environments.
* Understands how assigned applications fit with overall products and services offered and, with that understanding, works with other applications administrators to coordinate impact of products against others.
* Gathers, analyzes, and communicates information about upcoming product enhancements, updates, and technological advances.
* Translates business requirements into proposed product configuration and implementation design.
* Leads the implementation of new applications utilizing ITIL service strategy framework, which includes configuration management and change management.
* Understands the Firm’s security requirements especially where application services and production selection are concerned.
* Confirms firm security measures are used to protect applications and data from unauthorized access.
* Provides appropriate documented knowledge for Tier 1 support as well as design a support escalation and maintenance plan.
* Evaluates, analyzes, and creates specifications that integrate third-party products with other systems and products to improve efficiencies.
* Evaluates, coordinates, schedules and provides training materials for future software updates.
* Provides Tier 2 support to end users, oftentimes under difficult deadlines, for managed products and submits, coordinates, and manages technical support issues with third-party vendors.
* Develops positive relationships with vendors for successful management of products.
* Participates in firmwide crisis situations as needed.
* Utilizes user feedback and problem/crisis knowledge to implement changes to service, process, or communication.
Includes frequent interface with practice area members to service their production applications.
Gathers feedback related to opportunities or shortfalls of the product/service in the production environment, recommends solutions, implements solutions or coordinates their implementation across the production services team and supports tiers 1-3.
* Develops product or process recommendations based on data analysis and presents findings to the production services team.
* Plans, designs, develops, and communicates solutions to improve business/technical processes and to optimize the performance of applications.
* Assists with project coordination as needed.
* Monitors, manages, and communicates project performance and project status reports to project stakeholders.
* Drafts firm text and email notifications which would include planned and unplanned changes.
* Provides access to and administration of applications to users via Microsoft Azure Active Directory.
* Utilizes Excel for data manipulation, analysis, and presentation.
* Develops and authors user-facing training deliverables such as written procedural guides and hands-on training sessions.
* Provides management with work effort and status reports specific to workload, as requested.
* Successfully guides the support team in troubleshooting application issues which can include delineating issues between firm-provided technology and user-owned technology.
Job Requirements * Must have the ability to use the ITIL service strategy for product configuration, testing, deployment, knowledge management, and change management to deliver value, maintain a minimum level of competency, and measure improvement.
* Must have the skill to facilitate the implementation of an application based on an organization’s server architecture, database technology, networking, and infrastructure.
* Must have the ability to automate application operational tasks and maintenance based on Firm’s technology.
* Must possess analytical skills to evaluate performance metrics, conduct root cause analysis, and provide recommendations for optimization.
* Must possess a high level of professionalism and interpersonal skills to be able to work well with employees at all levels within the organization and maintain all information in the strictest of confidence.
Required to use tact and diplomacy when dealing with others.
* Must have the ability to work independently with minimal direction and also within a team.
* Must have ability to read, write and communicate fluent English; ability to compose documents in the proper business style using correct grammar and spelling; ability to communicate using proper grammar and diction over the telephone; and ability to communicate knowledge in both technical and lawyer-friendly language.
* Must possess attention to detail, ability to balance multiple projects and have strong time management skills.
* Must have ability to reason and apply common-sense understanding to situations encountered.
* Ability to process routine daily functions while resolving sensitive issues and complex assignments using above average critical thinking skills.
* Ability to travel as necessary.
* This is a full-time position that requires working a minimum of 40 hours on a regular basis.
Oftentimes, it may also require working outside of normal business hours to ensure the completion of position requirements.
* The physical demands of this position represent those that must be met by an employee for him or her to perform the essential functions of the position.
These include being both mobile and stationary throughout the work day, having the ability to transport 20 pounds and operating a computer and other business equipment found in the office.
