The Defense Medical Logistics Standard Support (DMLSS) Support Clerk has overall responsibility to ensure that required DMLSS/ programs are expertly implemented, operated, maintained, and updated to conform to all U.
S.
Army Medical Command (MEDCOM) requirements.
To assist in data entry of newly gather Real Property Installed Equipment (RPIE) inventory into the DMLSS System.
RESPONSIBILITIES and DUTIES
Maintains DMLSS input and general office clerical duties by performing the following duties:
Operate DMLSS system
Receives, prepares, or verifies documents
Searches for and compiles information and data
Responds to routine requests with standard answers (by phone, in person, or by correspondence.
)
Codes and files documents in an extensive alphabetical file
Entering and maintaining accurate inventories of medical facilities, rooms and Real Property Installed Equipment (RPIE) using DMLSS-FM Facility Inventory Module, DMLSS-FM Room Inventory Module and DMLSS-FM Facility Systems Inventory Module.
Developing reports in Business Objects to support medical facility department requests to support space allocation; and, medical facility management requests to make repair vs.
replace decisions on RPIE.
Entering and maintaining accurate room-by-room square footage, floor-type.
Entering and maintaining historical cost data on each individual RPIE item to support facility life cycle management.
Perform follow up and correction of work related to inventory management in process of gathering the initial data and the DMLSS system periodically after completion of the initial inspection.
Performs and inventories of installed equipment and systems and ensures all equipment is captured correctly and in full.
This includes boilers, compressors, refrigeration equipment, generators, air-conditioning facilities, and all appurtenant equipment that is driven by steam, electricity, gas, air, diesel, water, or any other power developing energy.
Identify and define (RPIE) Real Property Installed Equipment to ensure proper entry in the (DMLSS) Defense Medical Logistics Standard Support
Compares actual field data to the software management system’s data base to ensure accuracy.
Update WO/PM status in DMLSS System
Maintain all records for inventoried items and ensures that it is completed and submit in a timely manner.
Observe and follow all safety rules and procedures, including wearing required personal safety equipment.
Maintains the general cleanliness and appearance of assigned spaces, assists others as part of the inventory team as required.
Perform all other position related duties as assigned or requested.
Position Requirements
Ability to work flexible hours to include weekends when necessary.
Must maintain a valid state driver license.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units.
Ability to use MS Office programs including MS Word and MS Excel.
Perform other routine office work (e.
g.
, typing, filing, or operating a keyboard-controlled data entry device to transcribe data into a form suitable for data processing).
Ability to use (DMLSS) Defense Medical Logistics Standard Support and/or other.
Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Ability to obtain a Common Access Card and Access to Military Installations.
Ability to perform report analysis within the CMMS or DMLSS System.
Accurately enter detailed inventory data into a computer database.
Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Must have strong attention to detail and organizational skills while having time management skills.
