ELECTRICIAN - FACILITIES SPECIALIST

Qualified applicants sought for the full-time (40 hours) position of Electrician - Facilities Specialist.
The Facilities Specialist works under the direct supervision of the Facilities Manager.
The Facilities Specialist performs one or more licensed trade (Electrician, Plumbing or HVAC/Refrigeration) duties for the Town’s buildings and structures and performs a variety of maintenance activities as assigned.
Must be able to work in a team environment in a safe and efficient manner.
Must have strong interpersonal skills with a professional demeanor.
Participates in snow and ice operations.
Minimum Qualifications: High School diploma or equivalency with Trade School or Associates Degree or equivalence, (current) Journeyman Electrician license, Master Electrician or Journeyman’s Plumber, Master Plumber or Refrigeration Technician.
Preferred Electrician or HVAC Licensed Tech.
7 to 10 years’ experience working in the trade; or any equivalent combination of education, training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the essential functions of the job.
Work is performed both indoors and outdoors under variable weather conditions.
May operate a variety of light trucks with trailers and light power equipment.
Not working safely could result in delay or loss of service and personal injury to self and/or others, damage to equipment or property and danger to public safety and health.
Experience in maintaining building electrical, plumbing, mechanical and structural systems.
Working knowledge of various light duty trucks and equipment as noted above, practices and materials commonly used in the general carpentry, plumbing and HVAC trades.
Well qualified in the use of hand & power tools and machinery used with this trade work.
Ability to organize work projects and direct work activities and departmental personnel.
Ability to problem-solve usual and unusual maintenance and repair situations.
Ability to interact with employees and general public in a courteous, helpful and respectful manner.
Minimum hourly rate: $34.
