Responsibilities:
The ideal CSM will have experience leading technical teams, strong communication skills, and a passion for Agile development.
The candidate will work as a servant leader with a small team of implementation specialists.
Collaborate with Product Owner to align sprints with prioritized functionality and to ensure stakeholders are fully engaged and supporting efforts to drive development forward.
Collaborate with project stakeholders and the product owner to create new user stories.
Facilitate Agile Scrum ceremonies (sprint planning, user story grooming, daily standups, sprint planning, retrospectives, etc.
) and create and maintain Agile Scrum artifacts and documentation in both Jira, Confluence, and hard-copy as necessary.
Ensure appropriate communication between scrum teams, architecture, system engineers, UX teams, and other stakeholders.
Facilitate Agile training, as needed.
Collect and report progress metrics on a regular basis.
Work with geographically diverse project team(s), including internal customers and vendor staff, on technology-focused projects to ensure a commitment to Agile principles.
Qualifications:
MINIMUM:
Willingness to obtain a USPS security clearance, if requested.
Minimum Bachelor’s degree in business, computer science, management information systems, engineering, or a related field
Minimum 10 years of experience working in the software development field.
Must have 3 years+ experience as a Scrum Master with a focus on servant leadership, facilitation, situational awareness, conflict resolution, continual improvement, empowerment, and increasing transparency.
Certifications Required: One or more Agile certifications such as PMI Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP), Scrum Alliance Certified ScrumMaster (CSM) or other.
Strong communication skills and the ability to lead an agile development team.
Must be self-directed and detail oriented and able to coordinate and work with a dynamic team and multiple stakeholders.
Ability to manage multiple teams and product roadmaps, recognize and remove impediments, identify, and mitigate risks, escalate issues as appropriate, and proven expertise coordinating cross-functional technical teams.
Superior written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to compose, write and edit a variety of general business correspondence, management reports, technical presentations, training material, and position papers.
PREFERRED:
Experience with Atlassian’s Jira and Confluence.
Experience with distributed development teams which span multiple geographies, time zones, and cultures.
Experience with release planning and tracking and Agile using test driven development, automated testing, and continuous integration environments.
Experience as a software developer.
Knowledge of business functions and business operations, strategies, and objectives
Experience working in a consultant/client environment.
