Coinbase is leading the expansion of digital assets into the financial mainstream.
We are building a world-class Policy team to lead Coinbase’s engagement, advocacy, and outreach efforts with policymakers around the world.
In this role, you will be a key member of the Policy team, at a company where disruptive technologies and unconventional thinking are the norm.
You will have an extraordinary opportunity to be on the leading edge of policy development, and will play an important role in crafting Coinbase’s strategy in EMEA.
The role will focus on Coinbase’s policy strategy and engagement in EMEA, and provide policy leadership throughout the region.
You will work closely with regional business leaders as well as other support functions like Legal, Compliance, and Comms, to develop Coinbase’s government outreach strategy with governments, relevant supervisory authorities, and industry associations.
This position is fully remote, and can be located in any country in EMEA.
What you’ll be doing (ie.
job duties): Serve as an interface for government relationships in EU countries and Brussels.
Engage on legislative and industry issues that impact the company’s reputation with policymakers in relevant countries.
Conduct policy and legislative research that reflects the policy team’s priorities and contributes to critical policy outcomes.
Identify and recommend proactive strategies on policy issues affecting Coinbase in the EU.
Develop position papers and advocacy documents to support advocacy goals, align policy positions across key functions, and ensure consistency in messaging across the company on core policy issues.
Monitor and analyze policy trends for the company; succinctly synthesize information for internal audiences on potential legislation at the national, state, and local levels.
Collaborate with cross-functional colleagues on external policy communications in the EU.
Cross functional collaboration to strategically support the company’s international expansion.
What we look for in you (ie.
job requirements): 8+ years of experience in public policy management or a government role.
Know-how in the area of financial services and technology.
Demonstrated experience engaging and effectively interacting with lawmakers and regulators in Brussels and EU countries.
Experience advising Product and Engineering teams to consider and operationalize policy considerations as part of their business roadmaps.
Superlative research, writing and communication skills.
Enthusiasm for working on novel issues in a turbocharged environment, combined with a proclivity for proactive collaboration when problem solving.
Excellent recruitment and team-building skills.
A strong interest in digital assets, crypto markets, and blockchain technology.
High-EQ and a passion for acting like an owner.
Willingness to travel.
Nice to haves: EU language skills: French or German Law degree or equivalent professional qualification.
