SUMMARY
The In-House Government Contracts counsel plays a critical role as a trusted leader and legal advisor to the company’s business units on a variety of complex matters.
You will support our contracting needs as they relate to the sale of products and services to the federal government and/or its prime contractors.
You will use your expertise to ensure our compliance with applicable government rules and regulations.

General Responsibilities
• Act as advisor on a variety of legal matters, including coordinating with external counsel
• Interpret laws, rulings and regulations for the company
• Guide the company and ensure compliance with rules and regulations
• Research laws, anticipate and guard company against legal risks
• Prepare and revise legal documents, policies and contracts, accurately and in a timely manner
• Develop internal and external messages related to disputes and legal issues
• Perform due diligence in legal matters
• Stay informed about current legislation, especially concerning legal specialties
Experience / Qualifications
• A university degree required (i.

Bachelors degree) or equivalent relevant work experience.

SPECIFIC JOB DESCRIPTION
• Part-time role (20 hours/week) and can be fully remote or hybrid if located near a Sensata office.
Opportunities may exist for role to expand in scope and hours.
• Act as the company’s primary Legal counsel and leader in the review, negotiation and documentation of government contracts for several business units.
Similar responsibilities for some non-government contracts.
• Review, implement and improve policies to ensure compliance with government regulations, including, Federal Acquisition Regulations (FARs), Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS), and other applicable government or agency specific regulations.
• Respond to customer and government questionnaires and requests for information.
• Support our interactions with government agencies and officials, including monitoring legislative and regulatory developments that may affect our operations or opportunities.
• Coordinate with internal stakeholders and business partners to achieve the best possible results in such transactions.
• Collaborate with the company’s worldwide legal team to promote consistency in contract terms and support newly acquired entities.
• Lead and/or support special projects to improve the company’s transactional processes and goals.
• Become a key member of the Americas Transactions Team, reporting to the Assistant General Counsel & Head of Transactions.

• Licensed attorney in good standing in at least one U.

• Minimum of 5 years of government contracting experience, preferably from a Federal agency or law firm specializing in federal government procurement
• Expertise in Federal Acquisition Regulations (FARs), Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS), and other relevant procurement regulations and ability to audit and review company compliance with same

Base Salary Range:
$126,960.
