We are looking for an experienced trademark attorney with 2-5 years of actual experience for a part-time contract position with the possibility of expanding into a full-time position.
We are a virtual law firm, which means this position offers great flexibility and opportunity for lawyers who can work independently.
Ultimately, we seek an attorney who can deliver top-quality work to our clients and add unique talents to our team.

This position will start part-time (we estimate about 10 hours a week to begin) but will blossom into full-time for the right person.

*GOALS/OBJECTIVES*
* You will complete federal trademark registration from beginning to end, including advising clients on search results and responding to Office Actions.
To start, your primary role will be to handle our trademark docket.
* You will learn how to review, draft, and negotiate entertainment and art law contracts such as service agreements, independent contractor agreements, media production and financing agreements, and other customary agreements in entertainment, arts, and creative industries.

*QUALIFICATIONS*
* Between 2-5 years of experience working at a law firm (or comparable in-house).
* You must have 1-3 years of _demonstrable_ trademark prosecution experience.
You should be able to independently handle a federal trademark application from start to finish, including responding to Office Actions.
Bonus if you are familiar with trademark tools such as AltLegal and Markify.
* Entrepreneurial-minded, comfortable working closely and collaboratively with team members over Slack and Zoom.
We work remotely, so you must be self-motivated, proficient at time management, and highly accountable.
We don’t have set hours, but we expect you to meet your commitments to our clients and team.
* Previous experience in entertainment and an understanding of the particular quirks of entertainment transactions is a huge plus.
We are willing to train and teach the right candidate.
* Hands-on experience with forming California business entities is a huge plus but not required.

* Have a deep understanding of the needs and values of creative businesses and professionals.
* Detail-oriented critical thinker capable of producing consistent, high-quality work product that reflects an understanding of our underlying processes and not just a robotic application of the instructions we provide you.
* We would prefer that you be a member of the California bar.
* Non-legal experience in media, technology, or the arts is a plus.
The more you know about our clients' work from a non-legal perspective, the better you will be able to serve them and help them achieve their goals.
