What You'll Do::
The Compliance Specialists main responsibilities include reviewing DOE regulatory guidelines, providing support and analysis to ensure student information and applications follow college, federal, state, and accreditor regulations by identifying, reviewing, and analyzing data.
The Compliance Specialist coordinates a variety of activities, special projects, documentation, and applications to ensure the College's compliance with regulatory requirements.
Essential Responsibilities:
Ensure timely and accurate applications, documents, and reports meet state requirements.
Conduct research of regulatory requirements, and compile reports.
Compose correspondence needed, both routine and for special circumstances.
Utilize Student Information System (CampusNexus) software and MS applications or other data sources to retrieve data, export data, input data, and manipulate data for reporting purposes; uses spreadsheet software to analyze data as needed.
Ensure strict adherence to the protection and confidentiality of all sensitive student data and information.
Coordinate and arrange meetings, prepare agendas, and reserve facilities.
Assist with management and tracking of applicable state and national requirements and guidelines.
Review and analyze regulatory bodies rules, policies, and decisions.
Coordinate with program directors and College leadership on research and application projects.
Assist with drafting student facing correspondence and communications.
Support coordination, tracking, and development of licensing and compliance projects.
Through queries and reporting, review and scrutinize current and past student information; researching and analyzing activity to detect potential errors and take appropriate action.
Identify potential College risk concerns and issues with processes; monitor and communicate risk trends to management.
Interact with colleagues and external sources to obtain relevant information.
Identify and recommend root-cause solutions and potential weaknesses and associated risks.
The Compliance Specialist works independently on moderately complex activities related to reporting and compliance.
Progressive levels of work are determined by the scope, type and complexity of work and the freedom to act and make decisions without supervision.

Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution or equivalent skills and education is required preferably in a related business discipline such as finance, criminal justice, legal, etc.

Interest in working in areas such as internal auditing or other auditing, accounting, claims investigations, fraud investigations or similar.
Ability to independently research needed data and complete requirements.
Possess a proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
Excellent time-management skills.
Self-starter demonstrating thoroughness and attention to detail.
Excellent oral and written communications skills.
High sensitivity to the confidential nature of the work.
Ability to work well under pressure to meet deadlines.
Preferred:
Regulatory or accreditation experience, preferably in a higher education, regulatory or licensing board setting
Previous experience working for a college or university
Paralegal Certificate or relevant work experience
