Cognicion LLC, a boutique eDiscovery services and information management provider is actively recruiting a talented eDiscovery Specialist to oversee all eDiscovery processes of Cyber Incident Response (CIR) matters.
Working collaboratively with the CIR team, this role will provide direction and daily tactical support in the planning and execution of incident response projects including project-level analysis and recommendation of budgeting and planning parameters, best practices/procedures, reporting, and staffing requirements.
This role may also assist strategically in the future design and development of Cognicion’s growing CIR service line.
Advanced knowledge of Canopy, RelativityOne aiR, or other CIR-specific tools and platforms is necessary to being successful in this role.
*RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES:*
* Collaborates with leadership, managers, and other CIR team members to design, develop, and execute technical workflows for CIR projects including data mining and review at the direction of outside counsel and clients.
Leads CIR projects and provides day-to-day support and direction to the CIR team.
* Establishes Standard Operating Procedures for incident response service line, including but not limited to:
* Create protocol with forensic vendor, legal team, and client to transfer exfiltrated data
* Develop mass extraction workflows and notification report creation and automation
* Leverage Excel or other tools to support data normalization, deduplication, and validation
* Refine SQL queries and scripting and coding techniques to generate ad hoc reports
* Coordinates and drives the implementation of new procedures across multiple projects to ensure efficient, defensible best practices and quality processes.
Continuously refines workflows to increase efficiencies to maximize project team effectiveness and profitability.
* Works with leadership and management teams to develop project key performance indicators for maximum project profitability and client satisfaction.
* Stays abreast of emerging industry best practices and tools to identify, evaluate, and recommend ongoing enhancements to the organization’s protocols and procedures.
*MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, SKILLS)*
* Bachelor’s degree required
* Minimum of 5 years of experience in eDiscovery project management including 2 years’ experience handling cyber incident response projects.
* Strategy and Planning: an ability to think ahead and plan over a 12-24 month time horizon.
* Problem Solving: an ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization and/or specific direction exists.
* Execution: the ability to effectively and efficiently coordinate multiple, simultaneous projects with multiple vendors and other company personnel in a dynamic, evolving environment.
* Communication: the ability to effectively present and communicate information to management, employees, clients and represent the organization to other outside parties.
* Client Service Skills: exceptional client service skills with the ability to build rapport and trust.
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
* Ability to develop high performance teams and strong team players.
*TECHNICAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE*
* Minimum of 5 years of Project Management experience with on-time deliverables and strong problem-solving skills and high attention to detail.
(PMP Certification not required)
* Up to date expertise on cyber security and incident response industry standards including breach technology, notification reporting.
* Advanced knowledge of incident response technologies and tools such as Relativity, Everlaw, TrustArc, Canopy, Power BI and Tableau, VBA and Excel.
* Extensive knowledge of the concepts, principles, management and processing of electronically stored information (ESI), including the use of various ESI management tools and applications.
* Strong communication and organizational skills and the ability to work effectively with both the legal and technical teams.
* Expert experience with Excel required.
