Position Summary:
We are looking to hire a talented, eager, and skilled Associate Corporate Counsel to join our team in a remote position.
Entry- to mid-level corporate counsel, with responsibility for the drafting, review, and negotiation of various agreements on behalf of Scout, and the provision of legal advice to Scout business leadership with respect to such agreements.
This role may also have limited responsibility for the oversight of work performed by non-attorney legal professional staff.
Responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to:
Provide legal review and negotiation of Scout contractual documents, including but not limited to, Confidentiality Agreements, Master Service Agreements, Task Orders, Startup Agreements, and Master Vendor Agreements.
Provide oversight and review of contractual documents prepared by non-attorney legal professional staff.
Support the Lead Counsel, Executive Director of Contracts in maintaining corporate compliance strategy, including staying abreast of relevant changes in global laws and regulations that influence Scout’s service offerings, and developing and communicating required updates to internal processes resulting from regulatory changes.
Under the oversight of Lead Counsel, Executive Director of Contracts, provide legal guidance and advice to business leadership.
Perform other relevant legal and contractual duties as appropriate.
Support departmental initiatives, such as: updates to policies that govern the departments work, design of and participation in department-specific projects, and raise ideas about how to improve the department.
The ideal candidate will have the following experience, skills, and knowledge:
Law degree from an accredited law school
Active and valid license to practice law in the jurisdiction where the individual is physically located
2+ years of relevant contracts and legal experience, preferably in the healthcare industry
Experience negotiating contracts
Experience in data privacy, IP and technology, and compliance
Experience managing workload and priorities to meet business requirements in a timely fashion

Personal and professional maturity to develop and maintain strong relationships with key business clients.
Ability to identify and communicate complicated legal issues to business stakeholders in an effective and timely manner including risk assessments, legal guidance, strategy, etc.
Ability to take ownership of projects and drive them forward in a collaborative manner
Willingness and ability to work cross-functionally, with business: proposals, operations, IT, compliance, accounting/finance, etc.
Attention to detail, with great organization skills
Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, and Outlook
