Responsibilities:
- Provide administrative support to lawyers and legal professionals
- Prepare and draft legal documents, such as contracts, briefs, and pleadings
- Conduct legal research and gather relevant information for cases
- Organize and maintain legal files and documents
- Schedule appointments, meetings, and court hearings
- Assist with client intake and interview process
- Transcribe dictations and prepare correspondence
- Manage calendars and deadlines for multiple attorneys
- Coordinate communication between clients, attorneys, and other parties involved in legal cases
Skills:
- Excellent writing skills with attention to detail
- Knowledge of legal terminology and procedures
- Proficient in proofreading and editing legal documents
- Ability to conduct legal research using Westlaw or other resources
- Strong data entry skills for accurate record keeping
- Familiarity with legal case management software
- Ability to interview clients and gather relevant information for cases
- Proficient in transcribing dictations accurately and efficiently
