Our growing firm is looking to hire self-motivated and energetic attorneys to work as part of our team.
This is a litigation-centric position.
After receiving appropriate training, associates will be reporting to clients, taking depositions, drafting appropriate pleadings, and attending mediations.
When applicable, associates will have a chance to second-chair hearings and work on briefings to judges and appellate boards.
Under the direction of a partner you will:
* Manage an active caseload, largely consisting of claims under the Defense Base Act;
* Actively participate in all phases of case development from intake through resolution;
* Provide legal advice, guidance and overall support to clients and staff.
This position is review and writing intensive.
You will be drafting reports to clients, completing discovery, and writing briefs.
Our practice is national in scope.
Once you begin taking depositions and attending mediations / trials, some travel may be required, but we are utilizing technology (Zoom, Teams, etc.
) as much as possible.
After the first year, minimum billable expectation is 1900 hours.
Preferred Experience: Familiarity with maritime law, civil litigation, SSDI or LHWCA law preferred, but not required.
Journal and/or moot court experience preferred.
Remote work / hybrid options available.
