Clients come to us for our white glove service in assisting them to design or revise their estate plan, establish a trust, create a trusts for their grandchildren or other advanced estate planning.
We also administer trusts and estates.
On occasion we assist with estate tax return filings as well as accountings for estates and trusts.
We are seeking a paralegal who is experienced in trust administration, estate administration, fiduciary accountings and probates to work virtually for our firm.
*This position will start immediately as a contract position at 30 hours a week with the possibility of full-time hire for the right candidate.

Our ideal candidate must have a minimum of 8 to 10 years’ experience in trust administration and can hit the ground running.
You take extreme pride in doing the job correctly the first time in producing quality documents for the attorney.
You do your work to the best of your ability and point out what you don’t know or were not capable of answering.

* Experience with preparing and filing Probate Petitions and Court Accountings
* Proficient with Trust Accountings
* Capable of reading tax returns
* Capable of handing 706 Forms and 709 Forms
* Filing a California Probate from inception to conclusion
* Preparing Trust Transfer Deeds; Affidavit Death of Trustee and ancillary county forms
* Preparing notices
* Preparing letters to Franchise Tax Board, Department of Health Services
Our small and congenial firm handles traditional estate planning.
We also handle uncontested trust administrations and probate matters.
Requirements are:
* Attention to detail, ability to draft and work independently – proofreading skills are vital;
* Understand legal terminology, principles, precedents, procedures, and research methods;
* Investigative and interviewing techniques and procedures;
* Understand or be able to research California Probate Code, Family Code, Welfare & Institutions Code, Code of Civil Procedure, and Rules of Court, which pertain to probate matters; and
* Taking direction from attorneys and working independently in drafting and editing trust and estate planning documents;
* Drafting, analyzing and organizing Petitions for filing (including court accountings, 17200 petitions, 850 petitions), and maintaining and tracking hearing dates with appropriate follow up;
* Preparing legal forms, including judicial council forms;
* Giving summary presentations to the supervising attorney and producing written reports on status of matters assigned;
* Researching legal problems, locating applicable local and state rules, statutes and orders by computerized information or hard copy;
* Interviewing trustees and clients in person and over the telephone regarding current matters;
* Demonstrating continuous effort to decreasing turnaround times, streamlining work processes, and working cooperatively and jointly with other staff to provide quality customer service;
* Comfortable communicating with clients, courts, attorneys, and county agencies;
* Managing trust administration, sending notices, preparing informal accountings; and
* Experience in business transactions (i.
e.
LLC formation and corporate formation),
All assignments performed with considerable independence.
Applicant must be able to prioritize workload autonomously in order to meet court filing and other deadlines.
Education & Experience
* A Bachelor of Arts or Sciences degree in a legal assistant program or related field or a combination of experience and training equal to Five (5) years in this practice area.
* LLC formation experience
* Experience in bypass trust and survivor trust administration
* Familiar with California probate process preferred, but not required
* Clio Manage experience preferred but not required
* Office365 and SharePoint experience
You should have a fully equipped home office.
