*Reports To: * Surgery Center Manager *Job Overview:*The Case Manager will be a key member of our surgery center team, responsible for liaising with law offices to obtain necessary authorizations, scheduling surgical cases, and maintaining ongoing communication with all involved parties.
This role requires excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills, as well as a thorough understanding of healthcare procedures and legal requirements related to patient care and surgery scheduling.
*Key Responsibilities:* *Communication with Law Offices*: Establish and maintain effective communication with law offices to obtain timely authorizations for surgical procedures.
*Case Scheduling*: Coordinate with medical staff and patients to schedule surgeries, ensuring all necessary paperwork and pre-operative requirements are completed.
*Ongoing Communication*: Act as a primary point of contact for patients, legal representatives, and medical staff, ensuring all parties are informed about case statuses, changes, and any required actions.
*Documentation and Record Keeping*: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of communications, authorizations, and scheduled cases.
*Compliance and Confidentiality*: Ensure all activities are compliant with healthcare regulations and standards.
Maintain confidentiality of patient information in accordance with HIPAA guidelines.
*Problem-Solving and Coordination*: Address and resolve any scheduling conflicts or issues that arise.
Coordinate effectively with different departments to ensure smooth case progression.
*Patient Support and Education*: Provide patients with clear information about surgical procedures, pre-operative preparations, and post-operative care.
*Qualifications:* * Bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration, nursing, or related field preferred.
* Experience in a medical or legal office setting, preferably in a case management role.
* Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
* Proficiency in medical software and Microsoft Office Suite.
* Knowledge of medical terminology and understanding of surgical procedures.
* Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
*Physical Requirements:* * Ability to work in an office setting, use a computer, and manage files.
* May require occasional travel to interact with patients or legal representatives.
Job Type: Part-time Pay: $20.
