This position provides litigation discovery support throughout all phases of the litigation process, including managing litigation holds and production of databases and ESI collections.
Facilitates discovery compliance and coordinates collection of corporate-level information.
Compensation Minimum:$67,000 / year
Compensation Maximum:$111,000 / year
Compensation may vary based on the job level and your geographic work location.
Primary Accountabilities
•Manage E-discovery and ESI collections.
•Manage Litigation Holds.
•Collect, organize, summarize and evaluate data/information to support corporate litigation, including analysis of exposure for cases.
•Act as an American Family subject matter expert and technical advisor where appropriate, assist internal counsel when needed.
•Provide substantial technical expertise in electronic and other data collection, research documentation, and analysis and interpretation where necessary.
•Identify the appropriate custodians of corporate data and ensure that the data collected from the custodians is accurate and responsive.
Identify the differing processes and procedures used by the various company divisions for their record retention policy and their procedure for collection of the data.
•Organize project structure, identifies project components and outlines timeframes.
•Identify and ensure participation of other departments and divisions.
Balance competing demands between project quality, scope, cost and time.
•Determine appropriate sources of corporate records and information and ensures the records and information collected is accurate and responsive to discovery requests.
•Use discretion to collaborate with a variety of internal business partners to oversee responses to discovery to ensure accurate and prompt follow-up.
•Review files to gather information and advise internal business partners and in-house staff counsel regarding additional information needs.
•Locate the appropriate resources and experts to provide information on the workings of company systems used by the various company divisions.
Provide knowledge and/or familiarity with all computer-generated reports.
Specialized Knowledge & Skills Requirements
•Previous experience with electronic stored information and other data collection preferred.
•Demonstrated experience providing customer-driven solutions, support or service.
•Ability to assemble complex information that as a result is used in litigation.
•Demonstrated comprehensive knowledge of the claim processing systems, processes and information.
•Demonstrated knowledge of computer systems.
-ESI certification within 30 days of hire.
•Knowledge and understanding of insurance and claim industry.
•Solid knowledge and understanding of tort, insurance and contract law as well as the rules of evidence and civil procedure.
•Understands and demonstrates knowledge of legal ethics.
