Contract Manager: General Description:
An in-house legal department at leading international government services company is seeking a contract manager to help support its domestic commercial contracting operations.
The contract manager will be responsible for reviewing contracts, negotiating terms with counterparties, and bringing such contracts to conclusion in a manner that balances the companies’ business objectives against competing risks, all the while maintaining alignment with company policies.
The contract manager will be supervised by a Senior Director, Contracts.
The contract manager would also assist with related projects to improve existing commercial contracting processes.
Responsibilities:
• Draft, negotiate, and execute a variety of different types of contract agreements, including but not limited to, consulting and professional service, software, SaaS, and partnership agreements.
• Support day-to-day business operations while engaging in teamwork with legal counterpart and business partners.
• Work closely with stakeholders, and different departments to identify, incorporate, and initiate process improvements based on evolving contract and project demands.
• Analyze complex contract positions that deviate from company’s general business standard and balance risk tolerance of such positions while maintaining company’s business standards.
• Independently exercise business judgment and strategize contract risk mitigation solutions while upholding company’s business standards and best practice.
• Contribute to development and improvement of contract templates, playbooks, and guidance documents.

Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Law, or a related field
- 5+ years of commercial contracts experience required.
- Proven experience as a Contract Manager or in a similar role - Strong knowledge of contract management principles and practices - Familiarity with contract management systems
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to analyze complex contractual issues and provide practical solutions
- Experience in change management and driving process improvements
- Technical writing skills for drafting clear and concise contracts
- Knowledge of related disciplines including privacy, IP, government contracting, or employment law is a plus, but not required.
- Experience with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel.
