Position Summary
The Corporate Counsel will partner with the Chief Legal Officer in managing the legal affairs of the Company.
Responsibilities
Work directly with customers, vendors, providers, and others to structure and negotiate a wide range of contracts, partnerships, and other transactions (experience with value-based risk arrangements a plus)
Collaborate with company leadership to provide legal guidance in support of business goals
Conduct regulatory research on a wide range of issues at both state and federal levels
Manage various legal actions and complaints including EEOC (Equal Employment Opportunity Commission) matters
Prepare, manage and implement corporate governance and related policies
Stay up to date on industry trends and risk areas
Proactively identify and resolve legal and regulatory matters
Work in partnership with the Compliance team to identify and resolve compliance issues
Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
BA/BS, JD from accredited law school
Active license from applicable state bar
Six plus years legal experience and prior experience working in-house/Law Firm
Demonstrated ability to structure and negotiate a wide range of contracts and transactions including master services agreements, statements of work, alliance arrangements, risk-based contracts, vendor contracts, business associate agreements and other related arrangements
Demonstrated ability to partner with business leaders to reach business goals while managing legal compliance and risk
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, multi-initiative environment
Demonstrated ability to effectively collaborate cross functionally
Familiarity with healthcare laws and regulations, including HIPAA, Medicare and Medicaid
