help/ The Role: As a Senior Counsel at Solution, you will play a vital role in providing legal guidance and support to ensure the organization operates in compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
Your expertise and strategic advice will contribute to the success of the nonprofit's mission and overall operations.
Responsibilities: Legal Compliance: Stay updated on relevant laws, regulations, and legal developments affecting the non-profit sector.
Ensure the organization's activities and policies align with legal requirements.
Contract Review and Negotiation: Review, draft, and negotiate various contracts, including agreements with vendors, partners, and stakeholders.
Ensure the organization's interests are protected and contractual obligations are clear and enforceable.
Governance and Policy Development: Advise the non-profit leadership on matters related to governance, board responsibilities, and policy development.
Help establish and maintain effective governance structures and policies.
Non-profit Compliance: Ensure compliance with relevant non-profit laws and regulations, including tax-exempt status, fundraising regulations, and reporting requirements.
Stay informed about changes in non-profit laws and advise on necessary adjustments.
Legal Research and Analysis: Conduct legal research, analyze complex legal issues, and provide concise and practical advice to the non-profit's management and staff.
Collaboration and Training: Collaborate with cross-functional teams and provide legal training and guidance to staff members and board members.
Promote legal awareness and a culture of compliance within the organization.
Skills: JD degree from an accredited law school and admission to the bar association in the United States.
5+ years of experience practicing law, preferably with a focus on non-profit law, corporate law, or a related field.
In-depth knowledge of non-profit laws, regulations, and best practices.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to apply legal principles to practical situations.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to explain complex legal concepts to non-legal professionals.
Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy in legal analysis and document drafting.
Demonstrated commitment to the mission and values of the non-profit sector.
