Job Title: In-House Legal Counsel

Avenir Investment Management Limited is a start-up single family office with a global presence.
We are currently seeking an experienced and qualified In-House Legal Counsel with a background in investment advisory services to join our legal team.
*Responsibilities:*
*Legal Advisory for Investment Activities:*
* Provide legal guidance and support on investment advisory matters, particularly focusing on first-tier market transactions).
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams to assess legal risks associated with investment decisions and provide strategic advice.
*Real Estate Transactions:*
* Handle legal aspects of real estate transactions, including acquisitions, dispositions, and leasing agreements.
* Conduct due diligence on real estate matters to ensure compliance with legal regulations and mitigate potential risks.
*Dispute Resolution:*
* Manage and resolve legal disputes, both internal and external, related to the company's operations.
* Represent the company in legal proceedings and collaborate with external counsel when necessary.
*Legal Compliance:*
* Stay abreast of relevant laws and regulations affecting the company's operations in the investment advisory and real estate sectors.
* Develop and implement internal policies to ensure legal compliance.
*Contract Drafting and Review:*
* Draft, review, and negotiate a variety of contracts related to investment activities and real estate transactions.
* Ensure that contracts align with the company's legal and business objectives.
*Qualifications:*
*Legal Background:*
* Juris Doctor (JD) degree from a reputable law school.
* Active membership in the bar association with a valid license to practice law.
*Professional Experience:*
* Substantial experience as a practicing attorney, with a focus on investment advisory services and real estate law.
* Preferred experience in first-tier market transactions.
* Minimum of 8 years' experience in a legal and compliance role within the finance or investment banking services sector in the United States.
* At least 3 years in an in-house/ startup.
*International Experience:*
* Qualified as a lawyer in the United States with a deep understanding of U.
S.
legal systems and regulations.
*Analytical Skills:*
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to assess legal risks and provide effective solutions.
*Communication Skills:*
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work collaboratively with internal teams and external stakeholders.
*Languages:*
* Proficiency in both English and Mandarin Chinese is essential.
*Adaptability:*
* Ability to adapt to a fast-paced and dynamic work environment.
