Job Summary: As a franchisor paralegal, you will be responsible for assisting the legal department of a franchisor in matters related to franchise agreements, compliance, and general legal support.
Your role is essential in ensuring that the franchisor's business operations align with relevant laws and regulations.
Key Responsibilities:

Agreement Drafting and Review:
Draft and review franchise agreements, disclosure documents, and related legal documents.
Ensure that franchise agreements comply with local, state, and federal regulations.
Assist in negotiating and amending franchise agreements as necessary.
Draft and review Sponsorship/Partnership/Supplier Agreements and related documents.

Franchise Compliance:
Monitor and ensure franchisees' compliance with the terms of the franchise agreement.
Provide guidance and support to franchisees on legal matters, including regulatory requirements and operational compliance.

Legal Research:
Stay updated on changes in franchise laws and regulations.
Conduct legal research to support the legal team in various matters related to franchising.

Record Keeping and Documentation:
Maintain accurate records of franchise agreements and related documents.
Organize and manage legal documentation and contracts.
5.
Dispute Resolution:
Assist in resolving disputes between franchisors and franchisees.
Collaborate with the legal team to prepare for litigation, arbitration, on mediation if necessary.
6.
Training and Education:
Provide training and educational materials to franchisees regarding legal compliance and best practices.
Conduct training sessions on legal matters as needed.
7.
Compliance Audits:
Conduct periodic audits of franchisee operations to ensure compliance with legal and operational standards.
Prepare reports and recommendations for improvements.

Regulatory Compliance:
Assist in ensuring that the franchisor complies with all relevant laws and regulations governing franchising.
Coordinate with regulatory agencies as needed.
Qualifications:
Bachelor degree in paralegal studies, legal studies, or a related field.
Paralegal certification or equivalent is preferred.
Strong knowledge of franchise law and regulations.
Excellent legal research and writing skills.
Proficiency in legal software and document management systems.
Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
Effective communication and negotiation skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a legal team.
