HOW THIS ROLE IMPACTS COASTAL As the Compliance Monitoring Manager, you’ll manage, design, implement, and analyze compliance monitoring activities to ensure regulatory compliance across the organization.
The position will report to the Compliance Assurance Manager and will work closely with Coastal Community Bank’s Business unit partners, the Bank’s financial technology (“FinTech”) division (CCBX) partners, and frequently collaborate with a community of compliance professionals at the Bank.
WHAT YOU’LL DO AT COASTAL The Compliance Monitoring Manager works on the Compliance Assurance team as part of the second line of defense for the Bank.
You’ll work to ensure a strong enterprise-wide compliance culture by overseeing and implementing the monitoring activities of the Bank’s Compliance Monitoring Program.
In this role, you’ll provide continual development and improvements to the monitoring program infrastructure, ensuring that it identifies, measures, and monitors compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
HOW YOU’LL DO IT Manage and perform various monitoring activities.
Complaint data analysis and evaluation to identify trends, compliance gaps, and potential compliance risk exposure.
Use of social media listening tools and AI-driven software to conduct marketing compliance monitoring and general ongoing regulatory compliance monitoring.
Responsible for ensuring monitoring processes and procedures are followed and monitoring schedule timelines are met.
Document monitoring activities accurately, thoroughly, and according to department standards that clearly communicate test findings' objective, scope, and support conclusions.
Prepare effective communication reporting to summarize findings, including root cause analysis, and identify opportunities for additional automated or system controls to assist in providing more automated controls.
Perform issue validation of remediation efforts for issues identified through monitoring activities, adhering to department standards.
Responsible for monitoring the completion of action plans for issues identified in monitoring activities to ensure fulfillment is within target date timeframes.
This includes ensuring monthly status updates from action plan owners have been received and documented in the GRC tool.
Maintain proficient knowledge of consumer protection rules and regulations and their impact on products, services, and operations for a specific line of business or Partner, including the impacts on testing.
Identify opportunities to use data analytics and statistical analyses to create automated monitoring of control activities and regulatory components.
Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders and team members.
Manage and provide guidance, coaching, and training to a team of Compliance professionals and provide support related to regulatory interpretation, work paper creation, and monitoring activity execution.
Manage and provide oversight and support in developing and implementing monitoring strategies and tools to automate and perform monitoring activities.
Responsible for monitoring process and program enhancements, including creating or updating monitoring procedures, work paper templates, and training materials.
Assist with developing a compliance monitoring schedule and completing the annual compliance risk assessment.
Provide internal service following Coastal Core Values.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE 7+ years combined experience in Bank Regulatory Compliance, Audit, or Risk Management.
Experience across fintech and traditional financial institutions preferred.
Proven expertise with consumer protection regulations, laws, and the internal controls needed to mitigate those risks.
Experience in both lending and deposit regulations is required.
Expertise in analyzing data for trends and using software applications to conduct compliance monitoring required.
Proven ability to lead and manage a team of compliance professionals with various levels of experience.
CRCM certification or completion of specialized training in compliance (e.
g.
, ABA Graduate School of Compliance Risk Management) is preferred.
