Litigation Contract Attorney
Davis Wright Tremaine LLP is looking for a full-time junior litigation attorney to join the firm's alternative-track attorney program, DWTSurge.
The chosen contract attorney will support firm associates and assist the Litigation Practice Group with a high-profile ongoing case.
Attorneys with prior experience from medium/large litigation firms or in-house corporate environments who are looking for substantive legal work and flexible hours are encouraged to apply.
Candidates can expect to work remotely, collaborate with DWT attorneys as part of a team, and provide high-value legal services to a global DWT client.
While the initial engagement is for a 6-month contract term, we anticipate that the work will be relatively steady and that successful candidates may be renewed for additional terms, potentially through Q3 2024.

The ideal candidate will have: * 3+ years of litigation experience in a law firm or in-house legal setting.
* Residency and active bar admission in one of the following states: AK, AZ, CA, CT, FL, GA, IL, KS, MD, MN, MT, NJ, NY, OK, OR, PA, TN, TX, VA, WA, and WDC.
* Prior experience supporting depositions, conducting discovery, reviewing and ensuring quality control in discovery efforts, supporting third-party reviews, and using Relativity.
* Interviewed and prepared clients, witnesses, and experts through the litigation process through trial.
* Experience assisting with and attending meet and confers, judicial conferences, and other stakeholder meetings.
* Experience updating case chronologies, maintaining document lists, conducting substantive research, reviewing prior filings and electronic materials, and preparing motions and memos.
* Confidence interacting with internal DWT partners, associates, as well as various litigation stakeholders.
* High level of organization and willingness to shift gears to support a fast-paced team with different responsibilities.
* Strong interpersonal communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to produce high-quality work with minimal supervision and direction.

Compensation will be paid on an hourly basis, commensurate with experience and skill level (see below).

SALARY RANGE: The hourly compensation rate for this role is $80 to $100 per hour.
