Senior Counsel, Litigation (Madison, Wisconsin, US - remote)

Zendesk is looking for a Senior Counsel, Litigation to join a dynamic and fun legal team.
This role reports to the VP, Associate General Counsel, Privacy, Product, Employment, Litigation & IP.

Responsibilities (what you get to do every day):
Be accountable for all aspects of existing and new litigation and adversarial matters, including settlement strategy, case management, motion practice, implementing legal holds, coordinating and conducting internal discovery, managing productions, reviewing documentation, responding to legal process, insurance coverage coordination, and resolving matters in an effective and efficient manner.
Responsible for non-litigation and pre-litigation enforcement matters, disputes, settlements, and collections matters.
Responsible for reporting updates and strategy to senior leaders in the litigation and legal function in a clear and concise manner.
Identify potential litigation risks and trends and counsel the legal team and business on how to minimize exposure.
Manage and leverage data to drive decisions on litigation management recommendations and risks facing the company.
Be a trusted partner to key stakeholders across the business to drive the delivery of excellent legal services.
Partner with other legal groups (such as Product, Privacy, Employment, and Corporate Legal) to support their risk assessments and collaborate on strategic projects.
Manage outside counsel, including driving alignment on case strategy, budget, and staffing.
Manage the related outside counsel budgets for litigation matters.
Develop and maintain litigation management playbooks and policies.
Requirements (what you bring to the role):

D.
from an accredited law school and admission to the bar.
7+ years of relevant experience as a qualified lawyer, ideally with a combination of in-house multinational organization and law firm experience.
Experience in managing a variety of substantive areas of law for technology companies, including employment litigation required.
Experience in IP litigation a plus.
Experience interpreting and responding to legal orders.
Experience in managing internal discovery with a practical approach.
Excellent written advocacy skills, both formal and informal.
Strong work ethic, ability to adapt to rapidly-changing environments, and commitment to meeting deadlines.
Clear communicator with the ability to break down complex requirements into practical advice.
Ability to work independently, exercise practical business judgment, and organize and prioritize workload.
Able to manage multiple high-priority projects simultaneously.
Accountable and hands-on, self-starter, results-oriented.
Experience working with SaaS at a global tech company preferred.
The US annualized base salary range for this position is $178,000.
00-$266,000.

This position may also be eligible for bonus, benefits, or related incentives.
While this range reflects the minimum and maximum value for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations, the offer for the successful candidate for this position will be based on job related capabilities, applicable experience, and other factors such as work location.
