The ideal candidate will have several years’ experience with VMWare cloud design and implementation.

You will ideally have proven experience in multiple VMWare deployments.
Your engagements will see you working directly with customers and prospects.

Work Location: Remote Key Responsibilities: Operating as a Lead Architect to support the design, delivery and operation of VMware technology offerings.
Experience in consulting Providing expert VMware technical leadership, guidance and solution governance for all VMware activities Architect VMware solutions in hybrid cloud environments Implementing VMware solutions and proof of concept environments Participating in client workshops and working as part of joint Rackspace / customer teams Documenting solutions and identifying risks for management Providing expert VMware technical consultancy and advice to customers and project teams Interpreting internal/external business challenges and recommending best practices to improve products, processes or services Demonstrates a clear understanding of the importance of business drivers and business outcomes in any technical solution Business case development and cost analysis of the proposed solution against the customers existing spend profile A thought leader able to guide customers through their options and Rackspace recommendations, presenting complex solutions to stakeholders at all levels of the customers organisation Qualifications: Strong knowledge of designing, building, implementing, analyzing, and troubleshooting distributed, highly available systems Strong knowledge of Project Management methodologies Strong understanding of services and protocols, configuration, management, and troubleshooting of hosting environments, including web servers, databases, caching, and database services, openstack Scripting knowledge/experience is a plus(PowerCLI, REST).
Strong knowledge of vCloud Director and vCloud Foundation.
Advanced knowledge in the application of current and emerging network software and hardware technology and protocols Degree in computer science, information systems, or other technology/engineering subject Analytical thinking and creative problem solving; you will own issues until full resolution Good time management skill Good communication skills - both verbal and written – with an ability to create and share project-related documentation Producing design documents such as HLDs and LLDs Willingness to learn and a quick learner Relevant certifications a big plus.

The successful candidate’s starting pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and market conditions.
The anticipated starting pay range of California, Washington state and New York City applicants for this role is $135,300 - $180,800.
The anticipated starting pay range of Colorado applicants for this role is $123,600 - $164,800.
Unless already included in the posted pay range and based on eligibility, the role may include variable compensation in the form of bonus commissions, or other discretionary payments.
The discretionary payments are based on company and/or individual performance and may change at any time.
Actual compensation is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, licenses and certifications, and specific work location.
