The opportunity to participate in diverse facets of a private dermatology practice, including medical assisting, surgical assisting, administrative work, Mohs histology training with a national training company, compliance and government regulations and office management is a wonderful opportunity for young individuals wanting to gain experience and advance their skills before attending graduate school
This patient engagement opportunity is designed to be of great importance to the professional development of any premedical student committed to our profession.
Future health professionals are able to experience unique opportunities such as attending conferences ; learning from advanced peer mentors/clinicians in the community ; and establishing strong mentor relationships.
Lectures/journal clubs/teaching sessions are held to supplement the educational experience and have included private tours at pathology laboratories, case studies with sub-specialized dermatologists, as well as seminars and clinical skills practicals.
Students are encouraged to explore their interests and are welcome to organize their own seminars
As a Medical Assistant each student has the opportunity to develop strong interpersonal skills in patient care by coordinating care, interviewing, scribing, and assisting in basic procedures.
An excellent clinical-based experience, students gain a well-rounded understanding of the health care system by working with providers who deliver high-quality patient care, learning the importance of clerical tasks, and attending educational events such as lectures and conferences.
The private practice encourages students to create strong mentoring relationships with providers, who are motivated to assist students through the medical school process and teach them about patient care and serve as mentors through their graduate school admissions process and beyond.

Please note, students are encouraged to apply for the length of program which they feel is a reasonable and accurate amount of time they can commit to the program.
Duration of training for each participant will be re-evaluated January 1st of each year.
