Job Overview: We are seeking a witty, detail-oriented, and experienced Certified Payroll Specialist to partner with our team on a contract basis.
The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of payroll procedures and compliance requirements and possess the necessary certifications.
Those with expert knowledge of Paycom HRIS become front runners.
Responsibilities: * Partner with our team to take care of all the needs of our clients in a timely fashion.
* Process weekly or bi-weekly payroll accurately and in a timely manner.
* Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations and reporting requirements.
* Verify timekeeping records and resolve any discrepancies or issues.
* Prepare and distribute certified payroll reports as required for clients.
* Maintain accurate records of employee wages, taxes, and deductions.
* Respond to payroll-related inquiries from employees and management.
* Assist in payroll audits and provide documentation as needed.
* Stay updated on changes in payroll regulations and implement necessary adjustments.
* Collaborate with HR and accounting teams to ensure payroll data accuracy.
* Maintain confidentiality of payroll information and sensitive employee data.
Qualifications: * Has worked in a client-facing position prior.
* High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or certification in payroll.
* Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) or similar certification is required.
* Proven experience as a payroll specialist or in a related role.
* In-depth knowledge of payroll regulations, tax laws, and reporting requirements.
* Proficiency in payroll software (Paycom and Paylocity, preferred and gets you to the front of the pack) * Strong problem-solving skills.
* Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in work.
* Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively.
* Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
Working Hours: This contract position is on an as-needed basis to help supplement payroll processing for our clients.
Currently, we have clients who use Paycom who need payroll support.
The specific schedule can be flexible as long as clients' needs are met on time.
Daily meetings will be required.
