The Kootenai Health Finance-Accounting department is looking for an experienced Financial Analyst to join their team! The ideal candidate for this role will have knowledge of Periop, Cath, IR, and EP lab operations.
The employee in this position will collaborate with those departments and assist with month-end reconciliation, budget, productivity/benchmarking, and strategic analytics using multiple data resources.
*Position Description:* Provides comprehensive financial analysis and recommendations on a routine and ad hoc basis for organizational, service line, and project specific business decisions.
Utilizes advanced database querying capabilities to extract data from financial and clinical systems in order to conduct detailed and complex financial analysis using various decision support tools.
Presents observations, trends and conclusions to a wide range of clinical, business and management audiences.
• Develops and manages complex analytic models to conduct scenario modeling and what-if analysis • Joins large datasets from multiple sources in order to complete analysis • Provides market and financial analysis for enhancing strategic growth, measures profitability to identify opportunities for margin improvement, and evaluates the financial performance of new and existing programs and services • Analyzes financial statements, key financial indicators, financial pro formas, productivity benchmarks, and utilizes cost accounting data • Assists in the creation of the operating budget, capital budget, and long range financial plan • Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the field • Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals • Regular and predictable attendance is an essential job function • Competent to meet age specific needs of the unit assigned *Requirements and Minimum Qualifications* • Bachelor’s degree in related field required, Master’s degree preferred • Minimum of 5 years of decision support, cost accounting, or finance/accounting experience required • 3 years in the healthcare field preferred • Certified Healthcare Financial Professional (CHFP) certification from HFMA preferred • Requires an analytical mind, strong problem solving skills, critical thinking, inquisitive questioning, and ability to integrate data from multiple sources • Moderate to strong SQL report writing capabilities to pull and organize data from various financial and clinical systems • Proficient understanding of generally accepted accounting principles required • Advanced proficiency in computer software applications (i.
e.
Microsoft Word and Excel) and database applications required • Knowledge of the regulatory environment and reimbursement from government and private payers • Excellent communication skills to include written and oral required *Your location:* This position is US-Remote Eligible.
