CALSTART has an immediate opening for a highly motivated person to join our team as a People Resources Intern.
This position will support the People Resources Team, and report directly to our Compensation & Benefits Manager.
Our intern will play an important role in supporting a wide range of projects related to HRIS systems, data and reporting, training and development, tracking and analysis, and more.
Additionally, the Compensation & Benefits Intern will:
Support ongoing projects such as job leveling, comp analysis and job description creation
Support HRIS rollout and assist in establishing a standard operating procedure (SOP)
Assist in updating and ongoing maintenance of HRIS and Total Rewards related processes and procedures
Document processes and procedures to ensure compliance with company and regulatory requirements
Assist with a full audit of HR Systems
Work with confidential employee data to provide administrative support
Partner with benefits team to ensure up to date benefits information and processes are readily available to employees
Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications:
Completed at least 3 years of accredited college/university level coursework pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Accounting, HR, Business, Industrial Organizational Psychology, or other related fields
Prior work or project experience in Human Resources, Marketing, Business, or other related fields
Knowledge of different HR systems and databases (ATS, HRIS, etc.
)
Proficient in the Sharepoint platform (file storage, file share, etc.
)
Proficient in Excel – descriptive statistics, charts, tables, v-lookups, pivot tables, and formulas
Excellent presentation (PowerPoint and Canva), verbal communication, writing, and interpersonal skills
The ability to balance work independently in a fast-paced, remote work environment while collaborating with a high functioning team
Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and project management abilities
Minimum commitment of 20 - 25 hrs.

Desired Qualifications:
Currently pursuing Master’s degree with a focus in Accounting, HR, Business, Industrial Organizational Psychology or other related fields
