The Vail Resorts AP Staff 1 role will drive value in processing vendor invoices in a high volume, fast-paced environment to support our mountain operations.
This role is essential to partner with internal stakeholders and vendors to proactively manage vendor invoice discrepancies to ensure timely payment to our vendors.
Stakeholders include Vendors, Mountain Operations, Sourcing, Analytics and Accounts Payable.
Reporting to the AP Supervisor, the AP Staff 1 role will be responsible for processing all assigned invoices within workflow in a timely manner to meet performance metrics to capture all available discounts and maintain on time payments to our vendors.
This role will require you to troubleshoot and research invoice issues including outstanding credits, invoice discrepancies and invoices pending approval to prevent vendor credit holds.
The position will support and partner with AP team members handling top vendor account reconciliations to ensure vendor invoices are processed to maintain these account in current status.
Applicants should be self-motivated, detail-oriented, possess problem-solving skills and will have demonstrated learning agility.
The individual should have proven ability to execute tasks on-time and achieving or exceeding expected quality.
Candidates should possess the passion to build vendor processing expertise and be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with competing priorities.
Job Responsibilities: Assist in verifying initial invoice submissions with the OCR Brainware tool Accurately review, code, and process vendor invoices for on time payment Perform three-way PO match invoices and process Non PO vendor invoices and credits Identify, research and document invoice discrepancies and route to exceptions for resolution Correspond with vendors and internal stakeholders to resolve invoice or payment issues Periodically handle small vendor account reconciliations Maintain SOX compliance to AP key controls Review and Identify invoices for taxability and add use tax, if applicable Research and respond to vendor or internal stakeholder emails within 24 - 48 hours Work on special projects/duties as assigned Job Requirements: Bachelor degree in Accounting or Finance or equivalent work experience Detail oriented and organized in time management with the ability to manage multiple tasks Flexible and adaptable to change, with ability to meet deadlines in a high volume, fast paced environment Excellent written and verbal communications Proven analytical skills to identify problems and research for timely resolution Demonstrates initiative and self-motivated by challenge of work and proactively seeks answers Team player with passion to support team and build strong cross functional relationships to support the enterprise.
