The Work The Accounting team is responsible for producing Lexipol’s financial statements.
We are responsible for closing the books timely and accurately on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
We provide ad hoc and scheduled financial reports to various internal and external stakeholders.
Our team comprises individuals responsible for R2R (Record to Report) and P2P (Procure to Pay).
The Senior Technical Accountant has primary responsibility for technical accounting areas including Leases (ASC 842), Revenue recognition (ASC 606) for subscription revenue and percentage of completion revenue, contract assets (ASC 350), and internal-use software (ASC 350).
The individual will actively participate in the month-end close process, including booking/approving journal entries and preparing/reviewing account reconciliations of such areas.
Coordinate audit requests and supports audits with our external auditors.
The Senior Technical Accountant will work closely with the Director of Accounting and others within the company to ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance with all relevant regulations.
Interact with various departments/teams including O2C (Order to Cash which includes billing, collections, and cash application), Sales, HR, Legal, Marketing, Product Management, Professional Services, and Customer Success Management.
This is done through working in these areas of focus: Prepare and/or review journal entries and account reconciliations in Leases (ASC 842), Revenue recognition (ASC 606) for subscription revenue and percentage of completion revenue, contract assets, and internal-use software (ASC 350).
Manage revenue recognition, deferred revenue waterfalls and commissions.
Stay up to date with new accounting standards and regulations and assess the impact on the company's financial reporting.
Collaborate on the preparation and review of technical accounting memos and analysis of accounting and reporting issues.
Assist in the preparation of financial statements and other ad-hoc reports Advise management on technical accounting and reporting matters and assist in preparing guidance on the application and implementation of accounting standards.
Coordinate with external auditors on annual financial audits and SOX compliance/internal controls testing.
Manage closing calendar and ensure timely and accurate completion of all assigned steps.
Work with the team to create Standard Operating Procedures and desktop instructions.
Assist in cross-training of team members.
Support the optimization of NetSuite utilization.
Requirements: To be considered for this role, you will have this experience: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
Strong understanding of US GAAP and complex accounting areas, including revenue recognition (e.
g.
, ASC 606) for SaaS and internal developed software (e.
g.
, ASC 350).
Minimum of 4 years’ experience in technical accounting.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to communicate complex accounting concepts effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Experience in supporting accounting projects, such as accounting standard implementations and process improvements.
Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
Advanced user of Microsoft Excel and very adept at using varied systems.
Continuous Improvement mindset.
Preferred Experience: Master’s degree in Accounting.
CPA preferred ASC 842 preferred 2 to 3 years of public accounting experience 2 to 3 years private accounting experience Experience with NetSuite, Salesforce.
