Frankenmuth Insurance is seeking a motivated college student to join our Internal Audit team for an internship opportunity.
Position overview:
As a student in Internal Audit at Frankenmuth Insurance, you will have a chance to gain hands on experience assisting the internal audit team on a variety of projects.
Primarily you will have the opportunity to perform testing and provide documentation support for assigned audits.
Qualifications:
• Students should be currently enrolled and entering their freshman-senior year in college
• Preferred major is Accounting
• Ability to organize data, manage multiple tasks and make decisions independently
• Able to communicate effectively

Under close supervision and with limited independent judgment, conducts audits in accordance with professional standards, to evaluate and appraise the effectiveness and extent of compliance with key operating policies, procedures and plans throughout the organization.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Conducts audits, in accordance with professional standards, to evaluate and appraise the effectiveness and extent of compliance with key operating policies, procedures and plans throughout the organization, including:
a.
Completes audit planning and preliminary fieldwork
b.
Plans and conducts opening/closing meetings
c.
Develops sampling plan and test sample
d.
Conducts fieldwork and follows up on findings
e.
Evaluates internal control adequacy and effectiveness
f.
Determines the extent of compliance with policies, plans and procedures
g.
Assesses proper accountability for assets, reliability of financial reporting, and operational efficiency and effectiveness
h.
Exhibits objectivity and independence
i.
Prepares audit reports, providing appropriate and relevant recommendations to address audit findings
j.
Develops and maintains audit work papers with sufficient, creditable evidence to support audit findings
A minimum requirement for this position is the ability to work legally in the United States.
